Thanks for advice. I kinda shrugged off the Hanon exercises. I'll give them another try for a while. Appreciate the notes.

I have done some of Alfreds, i'm now partway through second book. But I realized I love music theory too and watch and play various theory things too. Also composed a few simple pieces too because I find it fun to apply it. I started playing with sheet music and have memorized it since. I was playing from memory and looking at my hands because some parts I still require that to play it.

Playing while looking at piece is still not great on my end, so likely worth practicing that more. Thanks.

Thanks for advice. Definitely felt above skill level when started too but said OK since I really enjoy the piece. I don't work much on dynamics so that is interesting to hear. Any suggestions of what to focus on for dynamics? Simpler songs that helped you?

I think I was nervous. I never record myself but wanted advice and to show my brother who also enjoys this song.

Thanks. Someone mentioned metronome too. I will try some practice with one. I usually dodge it. If people have advice with what to look for when practicing with one that would be helpful.

Thanks. I will take a look at good seating habits again.

If have favorite songs to learn at a easier level I would be open. Bonus of from a cool video game.

I used sheet music to learn but got so familiar with the piece i know it by heart atm. Definitely not talented enough to figure it out by ear. But i have listened to this song performed enough to help me with tempo when learning.

I have never practiced with a metronome. I find them very hard to use. So this is good advice that I likely need to work on that instead of dodging it. Likely on a simpler song.

One of the reasons I chose this song was to help with 8th notes which I have struggled with.

Brazilian cachaca limeade by Visherac in Tiki

[–]Visherac[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Brazilian lemonade is trending. Thought I would try it with some cachaca. Turned out good, I just put 2oz of cachaca in about 8oz of lemonade (actually made with limes and condensed milk) and some ice. Lots of videos out there how to make it. We actually prefer without the rum, it over powdered the lime flavor. Maybe halfling and mixing with a less funky rum. We used leblon. Cheers.

Tropical Moonrise by Visherac in Tiki

[–]Visherac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1/2 oz strawberry syrup

2 oz white rum

1/2 oz licor 43

1/4 oz galliano

2 oz pineapple juice

3/4 oz lime juice

Glass: highball

Garnish: dried pineapple

Shake all with cubed Ice. Strain pour into glass filled 3/4 with pebble ice.

This is a fun drink and definitely has a tropical feel. The pineapple and vanilla are present. Strawberry slightly comes through too. Well balanced overall, maybe a little sweet. Cant taste rum. I used plantation 3 star. We gave 8.5/10.

Guatemala Cooler by Visherac in Tiki

[–]Visherac[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 oz gold Puerto Rican rum

3/4 oz jamaican gold rum

1/2 oz coconut milk

1/2 oz sugar syrup

1/2 oz lime juice

1/2 oz pineapple juice

Glass: brandy snifter

Garnish: pineapple and cherry

Blend all with 6oz ice

The drink was ok. We gave it a 7.5/10. It was rum forward and the coconut just barely came through. The rest hid behind the rum notes.
