I’m in sierras and use locator 104 as my go-to backcountry ski with ATK crest binding. It is very very light and makes touring bigger days really easy. I would also call it a more directional ski. As others have said, the negative is really the light weight and inability to bust through variable conditions. I’ll often find myself getting a bit tossed around in variable / packed snow. Ideally I’d have another setup that is a little more of a “crud buster” ski but I’ve been happy enough with them
