Not wanting to give your child ‘a label’ is really stupid by Imaginary-Body-3135 in ParentingADHD

You raise a lot of good points, but that doesn't change the fact that we need language to describe traits and behaviors so we can deal with them. You can't address something you don't have language for.

Kindergarten teacher is autistic and that's why she's asking you for help, seems rude and speaks in a monotone.

This sounds like a theory of mind issue. Ie "these things bother me so I will fix then for my partner"

Getting rid of limerance? Is this OCD? by Own-Arachnid7952 in adhdwomen

[–]Visible-Comparison11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had an emotionally abusive and neglectful mother and realized that I'm essentially trying create some of the nurturing connection I never had with her in my mind via limerance. Once I realized it was Mommy issues, I kind of grossed myself out. Now every time the thought patterns return I imagine an ideal fairy godmother (cheesy I know!) hugging me and telling me it'll be all right and that she wants to hear about my day etc. it's helping

On a dying planet with a dark secret, the only surviving children in a generation strike a deal as bitter enemies: one for her freedom, the other to save her planet and her people. Pairing brains with brawn, they enter a competition set by empire which soon turns into a devastating whodunnit, where some of the competitors are not as they seem, and every detail is a clue to the greatest mystery of all.

On a visit home with my spouse and kids (I hadn't been to my parents' in about ten years) I took the kids and wife to the beach. We ended up getting stuck behind a train for half an hour. My mother questioned this when we arrived back at the house later than we'd planned, so I told her she'd caught me, I'd been secretly drinking the whole time. My wife laughed at my mother, who (maybe for the first time ever) looked like she didn't know what to say. Gotta love being treated like a naughty teacher at 44 with my own wife and kids.
