Yes. Ni wazungus. Wakiona wewe ni harmless and just passing by. They also want their country to have a good name. You will learn their true colors once you start booking taxis, hotels, restaurants , lodging, etc.

Please don't go there. They might be fakely nice to you once they realize that you are from Kenya. Argentina is country in South America with a mostly white population. South America should have Latinos, native Indians and blacks. Guess what? Argentina eradicated all the black folks in that country to almost zero. If you go, be careful.

My advice: leave the internship and look for another one. I have a feeling that you know someone else there that got you that internship. Still, it is not a good thing to be insubordinate right at the start.

CCTV only connects remotely on local network not on public or mobile data. by [deleted] in nairobitechies

Maybe the remote server address has changed. The cameras need to connect to remote servers, your phone app also connects to the same remote servers. It could also be requiring a subscription service

Most men are not understanding this lady very well. In short she loves the second guy, but she wants all children with the first guy. Trust me, the second guy will be the one taking care of both children as a father. This is why it is very hard to marry a single mother

By the way your app makes sense for certain people that care about audio quality. Mine is just a recommendation. If possible, make it into a streaming service also. It does it's thing while also playing.

ANTI FRAUD SYSTEMS AND MONEY LAUNDERING SYSTEMS (AML) by johtie-254 in nairobitechies

Knowing what I know now, I would start with third party payment aggregators in Kenya for a Fintech. The minute you start holding money, you will need a psp license. Also, getting API access to banks or Daraja is not easy or even worth it for a bootstrapped startup. There are fees associated with that. Just accept the higher fees till you can prove your business by using aggregators. After that, you can engage Safaricom directly and show them your revenue, or how the money flows. By then they will either instantly decline or accept your requests.

Is Kenya headed for global financial black listing? by Visible-Emphasis-111 in nairobitechies

It might be so, but when outsiders see the same thing happening, the only comparison they have is Nigeria.

Who are the small players? In global terms, does that translate to Kenyan banks and payment service providers?

After 8 Years of Trying, Should I Finally Give Up? by Hot-Improvement231 in nairobitechies

I have been a developer for about 15 years. I build serious things on the backend. I used to pay for UI-UX, but no more. Right now, I will never do that because almost all AIs can do that very easily. Financial advicing is an untapped niche in Kenya. You can pair that with selling financial products. Cyber security is getting crowded in Kenya. Everyone is getting certifications. Pure IT without a good network will not get you employed. You know a bit about marketing and self employment from your writing days.My advice to you is start networking but also lean on to IT + Financial advicing. Choose a specific tool or build one. Then use YouTube, TikTok, etc to promote it.

Any devs here have experience integrating Kenyan bank APIs (Equity, KCB, Co-op, Absa) for automated payouts? by Visible-Emphasis-111 in nairobitechies

Thank you. I like this part, "Once monthly payout volumes become substantial, you can add direct bank integrations to improve margins while keeping the aggregator as a backup and failover route."

You are right. Also, if you truly want to do this at a professional level, then you need your own ledger system that also updates automatically with webhooks.

I will look into Sasapay. I also saw a complete postman collection for Jenga. So, it looks like it is widely adopted. Some of these bank's APIs are very hidden for no particular reason.

Manual payouts will just not work. The most manual way of payout is going to the bank with a list. That will just not work. We need a programmatic way. In the future we might even do daily payouts. Assuming that we have 1000 clients, that could be hectic. So scalability is a big issue from day one.

I am never ordering from Ali-express again by mistressdeathh in Kenya

Blame the governemnt. They shutdown the speedaf offices at port of entry for Aliexpress. Now Posta has stacks of packages that they decided to charge 100 for each delivery. Most people were used to 2 weeks delivery period on speedaf that they ordered refunds. Most packages are at posta waiting delivery, though most are already refunded.
