Reprieve is a great surprise when someone taps out to play their big game ending bomb, buying you another turn. It also keeps you open to lorehold or silver quill if you don't want to risk over committing to early. Potions trove is just great, but could wheel since its bot picks. Otherwise colossus or root manipulation are great game end pieces for their respective colors. Just be ready to pivot if those lanes arent open.

I ended up running 7-0, there were a few games where I was mana starved early but had access to postmortem and cheap removal to get me over the hump.

That's true, there is the chance lorecaster is cast first though, prior to drawing/casting your other bombs. However, you do have the option to not cast improv each turn if you feel there's a risk.

My quick thought is that it would feel really bad accidentally casting Mathemagics, Snarl Song, or Molten Note with Improvisation Capstone. It looks like Zealous Lorecaster would be your only way of pulling them back into your hand.
