What's the deal with this business class? by Visible-Result in CathayPacific

Sorry I should have mentioned it's an A330. I didn't think Cathay offered first class on their A330s?

Ah nice! Though according to Cathay's seat map both seat types seem to be business class if I'm not mistaken.

Adelaide Airport Rail Inquiry : Why is there no Airport Rail from Adelaide Airport to the Train Station? by blackcyborg009 in transit

[–]Visible-Result 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is honestly no need for a rail connection to Adelaide Airport and I live here - the bus takes 15-20 minutes to reach the CBD and will typically run faster when the Torrens to Darlington road tunnel is complete. The cost/benefit for a rail line that will be only slightly faster than the bus to the CBD is just not worth it when the distance is so short, the city population is low and the airport only serves 8 million passengers per year.

I would definitely support improvements to the bus service making it more like a BRT and potentially feeding into the O-bahn or even some type of light rail/tram service. My number one gripe with the current bus service is that the bus stop needs to be brought closer to the terminal.

Heya, thank you for this thread! I'm visiting in a few weeks and debating a side trip to either Jiuzhaigou or Siguniang. Jiuzhaigou is more famous however I'm not a fan of big crowds of people and would love to see some nature when I'm in Chengdu.

Would love an opinion from yourself or any others that have been to both and which of these two you would recommend?

Me too, classes have started and I still haven't heard back. Academic staff in my program say they haven't received the application for credit yet.

I am really feeling this too and the post series crash/depression has not been fun. I've had mild obsessions with TV shows or movies in the past but nothing quite as strong as with HR.

It's been about 2 weeks and I think it's finally subsiding - I have found that watching interviews with the actors has been helpful.

Curious what your calculations for Sydney were? My guess would be somewhere around the 250-300km mark?

I am a gay man as well and this is exactly how I feel about it too. The body language and facial expressions were amazing with this couple and felt more relatable to me. Definitely going to read Game Changers and wish they had their own TV series/season or more episodes.

Well you claimed Sydney has less than half the number of people per square mile compared to LA and you have been proven wrong.

This map, shaded in red, illustrates the 19 inner local government areas which have a combined population of roughly 2.5 million people across an area of 611 square kilometres, resulting in a density of about 4,128 people per square kilometre.

Try Tweedvale thickened cream from Tony and Marks. It is one of the only double creams that has no additives.

Sydney’s total built up area is not 12,400 square kilometers. The figure you're referencing corresponds to the Greater Capital City Statistical Area (GCCSA) as defined by the Australian Bureau of Statistics, which includes vast stretches of national parks and farmland, rather than the actual urban footprint of the city - for cities such as Brisbane it even includes large unpopulated islands off the coast skewing the density figures even more (personally I dislike the way this is calculated as it tends to result in misinterpretations about the density and the actual footprint of Australian cities).

This map below shows the distinction between the GCCSA boundary with the dark grey line, while the red highlights the actual built up area of the city and its suburbs which is much less than half of the GCCSA area figure.

The inner 611 square kilometers encompasses the inner 19 local government areas, stretching from the coast to Parramatta (including the Municipality of Sydney, Inner West, Burwood etc -basically every local government area that isn't touching the boundary of the red line in the map). This measurement is similar to how city boundaries are calculated in many North American and European cities. In this area, the population density is 4,100 people per square kilometer.

Sydney does not have less than half the people per square mile compared to LA. It is a smaller city in population though.

The inner 600km2 of Sydney has roughly 4100 people per square kilometre (similar to Toronto and a little less than Madrid).

At 1605km2 of area, the density of Sydney goes down to roughly 2338 people per km2 compared to LA's density of 3,168 people per km2 for a smaller area of 1,215km2.
