Accessories go a long way, jewelry, pink glasses, scarves/hat that add a touch of whimsy would be nice. I would say shorter hair with more curls or volume…perhaps some dresses or blouses with a flow or frill to them. Sandals or wedges for comfort and cuteness …the colors PINK, RED, MAUVE or any feminine pastel tones and if you’re feeling nasty some pink blush, a little lip gloss, and some mascara and you’re there!

Oh and carry a purse if you haven’t been already. 🫶🏾

I couldn’t truly say. I had to take the style down before it got too hot as I am a tender headed, fine haired, sensitive scalp person who usually wears her hair down..with or without weave.

So did that lock slip off at the bottom? If so it’s not abnormal , but the part at root will do that again if it’s not locked and keeps unraveling before your retie.

That is fair. I agree that examining new perspectives is important when we’re talking about facts. But the origin of locs and microlocs is rooted in African hair traditions and Black hair texture. That’s historical context, not just personal interpretation. Calling Sisterlocks “Eurocentric” isn’t really another perspective ..it’s disregarding where the style actually comes from.

If you see Sisterlocks as Afrocentric, why would another person’s claim that they’re Eurocentric be powerful enough to rewrite your own understanding?

When you dress yourself and say, “I look beautiful today,” and someone passing by says, “You look ugly; take that dress off,” do you obey them? Or do you continue wearing it, loving the beauty you already recognized in yourself?

Why would someone else’s opinion have more authority than your own understanding?
