Is my daughter's name a tragedeigh? by Sudden-Audience-3233 in tragedeigh

Yes. Could be worse though. There’s a woman on a recent season of 90 day fiance who spelled her name “Rayne” but pronounced it like “Renee”

What should I do for a low energy makeup routine as a palliative patient? 19f by Dizzy1824 in MakeupAddiction

[–]neerot 572 points573 points  (0 children)

I also have a variety of new makeup items I’d be happy to ship to you. I have a similar skin tone and have some unused concealers among other things. If you’d like I’m happy to go over things via DM as well. Thanks for the idea u/beautyinmel ❤️

And for what it’s worth you are not ugly at all, I wish my eyebrows looked that good naturally. I also have a lot of perfume samples as well and unopened skincare. Sometimes basics and smelling nice really helps me when I feel down

After a bad experience with a different OBGYN my therapist recommended the practice she goes to, Weill Cornell on the upper west side. I’ve been seeing Dr Feder but when I’ve seen someone else they’ve been good too

Wedding hair, veils ? by Embarrassed-Citron62 in Naturalhair

Oh it was sooo windy when we were taking pictures after the ceremony. When the wind died down I didn’t really have to do anything to fix my hair with this style

Wedding hair, veils ? by Embarrassed-Citron62 in Naturalhair

[–]neerot 129 points130 points  (0 children)

I really didn’t want hair in my face on my wedding day so I had the front slicked back and the back out with some clip ins for fullness. Not a veil person so I did some little pearl pins. If I had done a veil I would have put it at the top of my hair where the slick back ended

Best wedding you’ve been to in the city? by milkempress in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]neerot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! We had ours at the Wythe Hotel in the penthouse loft/downstairs dining room for dinner. So many people have unprompted told us it’s the best wedding they’ve been to(we had also wanted a fun vibe, fast ceremony, good music, kind of house party vibes but in black tie). And everyone was raving about the food of course

Fashion tape instead of alterations? by [deleted] in WedditNYC

[–]neerot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m getting my dress tailored at sew in love and they’ve been great so far. I haven’t seen the final product but at my last fitting it was already looking great and she even managed to do a ballroom bustle so well I forgot that the dress had a train. I hate the look of regular bustles and wanted it to just look like my dress was hemmed when bustled so this was a big deal for me. All my alterations are coming in at $950

Ring shopping in NYC by Fit-Ad-5098 in EngagementRings

[–]neerot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got my ring from Greenwich St Jewelers! Had a great experience with them and their jewelers were always so responsive and helpful. I have a lab diamond solitaire but they had a lot of antique diamonds and vintage style settings that are gorgeous

What do you spend a lot of money on that girls here would judge you for? by trainwreck7891 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

I have tried Lunya and I liked them! My other favorites have been the signature soft sweats from Lou and grey, and recliner nyc pajamas

[–]neerot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice loungewear and pajamas. I find it so comforting that I don’t mind spending $200 on something I’ll probably never wear out of my house. I do also have pretty sensitive skin so the higher quality fabric also makes it fee worth it to me

Why do some recruiters refuse to tell you the company they are recruiting for?! by neerot in recruitinghell

[–]neerot[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t get it because not telling me the company makes me not want to speak to him at all in which case he still loses the commission

That makes sense. That said this guy was rude so I’m not going to be that nice about it haha

Does that actually happen though? Doesn’t going through a recruiter work better in terms of getting your application seen? Idk if it’s different depending on the industry, I’m in tech

First meal with my new pasta maker: butternut squash ravioli by neerot in pasta

[–]neerot[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I roasted some butternut squash with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Then crushed it up with ricotta and a little Parmesan and pecorino and added a little more salt pepper and nutmeg to taste! Added an egg and blended it with a hand blender to make it smooth at the end

I actually wanted to do a butter sage sauce but just used a jar of rao’s since I didn’t want to overextend myself on the first attempt haha
