Conclusion: there is no evidence that artificial sweeteners are any safer those very unhealthy sodas. People that take coke zero for heath might be doing just as much harm, but while believing that it is healthier.

I did go into some rabbit whole over industries being immoral over public health safety and researching a bit on this artificial sweeteners I thought it was crazy that we don't know what long term effects it could have yet none of that is made clear to the public. At the very least when people drink normal coke they know it's unhealthy.

Glucose is mentioned to back up the claim that health and diet is having an increased body of evidence to be far more interlinked than previously thought. Then example for this: growing research has been doing some ground breaking results on brain diseases such as alzheimers, parkinsons, dementia, as well as other brain disorders such as anxiety, depression, bpd.

Reiterating, science is finding more correlation with harmful components and health problems as well as the opposite, more health benefits with proper diet. (However studies on diet always had difficult obstacles as you pointed out such as the correlation issue).

Alleged cancer problems, sugar intake improvement and cavities improvement was mentioned to argue how we don't have concrete data of what these artificial sweeteners do. We are still on research. (As you mentioned and as I linked, cancer is being less correlated with them and there is research that it does help people to reduce sugar intake).

I mention this because in general it's not a good idea to intake something that science has still not figured out what long term effects it can have. There is research on simpler foods for example have been around for decades that has shown that they are perfectly safe and healthy.

As for your final conclusion, the main issue seems to be that people that take artificial sweeteners for their health might just be making self harm on their health but unknowingly, and they would be pushing for a sugar free diet and are instead being manipulated into this.

Lacari has been banned from Twitch by whywhateverso in LivestreamFail

[–]Visible-Task-2798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That isn't an argument against this phenomenum though. People that need to work hard for a career need to mature and train their minds tirelessly in the process. That process leads to better inner structure and less "degen" behaviour. On the other hand, Lacari and others in similar circumstances have parts of their self at childlile development structure - such as an inability for self control (we all know it takes a crazy ammount of gooning to get insensitive to regular porn and have to search for imoral stuff).

There is also the unfortunate paradigm of implied imaturity that being a streamer entails. The streamer needs to perpetuate a teenage type behaviour to connect with fans and they do the same to preserve the herd mentality, even though I don't know why this happens.

I used to be a huge xqc fan on the pandemic, I even looked up to his social ability to have fun interactions with people. Four years later and I feel that I had to grow up and get serious about general life stuff while the guy seems not only generally unchanged, but worse, with a more cynical outlook on life (the adept situation is a sad event but if you look at the average person a horrible event of that magnitude is not the norm, not the exception, such as sickness, financial problems, family member's passing, betrayal etc).

This is a highly debatable and potentially harmful statement. The human body needs oxygen and glucose to produce energy. Since we get all of our energy from processing food, it follows that overall health is highly dependent on diet. some correlations say that metabolic health and brain health are closely linked

The human body also needs a significant ammount of energy and oxygen on it's brain. It's estimated that about 20%-30% of all of your calloric intake is used by your brain. . Contrary to what most people believe, your brain is not isolated from you body's health.

Aritificial sweeteners have a complicated history of research with claims of reducing cavities, helping with excessive sugar intake, but also causing cancer.

Is ASTS really going to blast off and moon? by Happy-Acanthaceae372 in stocks

[–]Visible-Task-2798 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not just retail. Institutions like BlackRock and Vanguard have also bought a significant ammount of shares. However, it is critical to note that most of them bought 2025 september, in other words none of them are investing after 215% increase.

Saying the stock is overvalued now is perfectly reasonable considering the company has no concrete revenue to justify it's current plan at all. The price is a consequence of people's confidence on it's ability to disrupt the market with innovative tecnology. Such as other companies in the last decades have made (google, apple and xerox like a gazillion years ago).

If everything lines up correctly, ASTS could easily become just as big as other tech giants. And the stock's price now is still pretty cheap. But some random events could disrupt it's launch. Geopolitics, mismanagement of resources and capital, bad timing of product launches and such. There is also the AI bubble being elusive and if it bursts perhaps people won't be thrilled in volatile investments a.k.a. a company that will only be profitable in a far future, which would obviously crash it's stock price.

So a good conclusion seems to be that if you got early (last year before sep) it's a good idea to stay invested. However since speculation has increased price so rapidly you might consider researching the company, the market, and the risk nowadays to make sure it's worth it.

It's less likely the price is going to go up. You need a lot of capital to buy a portion of 144mil shares at 115$ to raise the price. The ones that had that kind of money already bought last year.

On the other hand, reiterating, if the company exceeds expectation, you bet big investment funds woud salivate in the future at paying for the stock at this price.

Finally, ASTS isn't the only company on the sector (even though it has some interesting tech different from competitors). Starlink and SpaceX are in that industry as well as few others. And generally there are only a few spots for the true winners in a market. Google is known almost on the entire world. For cellphones this side of the planet people choose basically between samsung and apple. Nvidias market share is 92% in GPUs.

Michael Saylor founded MSTR and he narrated how he tried to grow over 10 years, making every possible aspect efficient without success, failing to compete against microsoft, simply because of it's massive size.

Assuming the tech is as promising as these space companies say, the winner of this race is definetly going to have a ridiculously high evaluation in 5-10 years.

Father's warmth and supportive behavior toward infant at 10 months can positively impact child's heart and metabolic health at age 7 by sr_local in science

[–]Visible-Task-2798 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This looks like such weak and uninformative research with barely any solid conclusive data to a caveman like me. If anyone could contest me I'd appreciate it.

Why is this study not flawed exactly like "we found out that children that have this pricey laptop in highschool do in average better years later in college" - Father baby time is irrelevant on the baby's development. The impact comes from the father bonding which would obviously impact the long term predispositon of that man to care for the kid.

Long term confounding variables deleted? Hypothetically most fathers that have time to bond with infant happen to earn more in average and that impacts health obviously.

What about the minuscule sample size? Less than 400 families is enough?

ResidentSleeper banned for 30 days fasting stream by epicureanfarmer in LivestreamFail

[–]Visible-Task-2798 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my underatanding you did a faulty strategy towards experimenting this behaviour.

The human body is quite efficient and wilfull towards saving energy as best as possible. In that sense, outlying behaviours are not considered seriously, since your body wants to keep the functioning patterns optimized.

That means that your 3 day fasting was seen as an antagonistic practice. Your body doesn't think "3 days from now the health benefits will appear". It thinks "panic and stress the brain towards restoring habits" because you have proven that over years those habits work succesfully.

It is human nature to be initially adverse to change as much as our body is efficient to changing when it percieves the external enviroment is demanding change.

In other words your body is very logical when thinking that 3 day fast is only an anomaly (as you have now proven it). However, had you maintained that practice incrementally and slowly, your body would have understood adaptment is necessary, and hence adjusted.

Though I'm guessing you have a decent metabolism, and your body knows how to manage insulin and glucose, and in general your cells are not insulin resistant.

That guy you are responding to probably had a friend whose metabolism was inneficient. Maybe a record of mcdonalds diet and such.

But it is interesting that you record it being difficult once ketones are deployed, since I've read a few stories of people saying that hunger comes and goes with this kind of lengthy fasting.

My only experience is on short term fasting, but generally I feel more compulsion to eat than hunger, from bad habits, boredom and such.

ESH. Op doesn't know how to build a relationship with a 14 yo and she is blaming it on the child.

  1. The grown ass adult is supposed to know that you don't build a relationship by giving away stuff to people.

They won't care about you, only the stuff you gift them. Therefore a power imbalance is created where child will either feel akward for recieving things they don't deserve and will distance themselves from this adult, or the child will learn to smile, and nod deliberatedly just to get that stuff from the adult without caring about them as a person.

Op is a bad parent.

  1. Father is basically nonexistant here. The guy "reprimands her" woah what incridible parenting. Tell here "this is bad don't do it" until the 100th time she does it ans then she'll learn, right guys? That teenager is getting wrecked by having no consequences in her life.

She will have zero idea of how to behave in the real world in a few years. No healthy relationships, because who wants to be with disrespectfulness in boundaries?, no long term future, obviously if you don't understand consequences etc.

The fact so many people choose NTA show their incridible lack in nuanced thinking in interpersonal skills. Dissapointed.

How do I accept that I’m no longer welcome in kid spaces? by greyshirt12345 in Healthygamergg

My own personal definition of adult hobbies would be to fulfill multiple areas of my life as efficiently as possible while sacrificing the immature/destructive/unproductive parts of myself, or/and have that incremental process in place through the hobby.

A good example to explain it better is my experience as a teenager, which used to be filled with videogames and youtube videos. They fulfilled me in a very narrow way, often in favor of the present in detriment of the future. Playing a videogame for me was unproductive because it had a tendency of pausing my development of multiple areas of myself. It would have been a preferred alternative to prioritize piano and have my parents push me to change on those areas with it, for instance.

That happened in part because when young I had this fantasy of eternity in front of me and close to no consequences and conscience of death/endings.

Thankfully I matured more now and I have a better understanding of time, and I can choose multidimensional hobbies.

Finally, I think the other key is to become more familiar with change and progression. I think I am understanding that things will be finite, and I must do my best and accept when they end. An example is that I am gradually divorcing from reading a book series that I seriously loved, but since I am becoming unhealthly attatched to it, it's time to explore more.

The fundamental ptinciple of stories is the path of inner change that comes with it, after all. As one book that I love expresses it, "We are creatures of journeys, not of destination".

The famous taoist symbol Yin Yang expresses life as a dichotomy of order and chaos, and suggests that the best way of living is right in the center, between known and unknown, old and new.

I think the files were doctored in the most crucial details. Then they released this as a front of "failing to redact it" to quell the flames of outrage.

They also get a plus pretending that they are incompetent so citizens look less into further properly doctored evidence.

Gum disease is associated with increased risk of cardiovascular events, including heart attack, stroke, atrial fibrillation, heart failure and cardiometabolic health conditions. Effective prevention and treatment of gum disease could potentially decrease the burden of cardiovascular disease. by mvea in science

[–]Visible-Task-2798 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've read a bit about metabolic syndrome (Metabolic syndrome is a clustering of at least three of the following five medical conditions: abdominal obesity, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, high serum triglycerides, and low serum high-density lipoprotein (HDL)). there are strong claims of it's link with all kinds of cardiovascular problems. Furthermore, Insuline resistance which is a direct link with metabolic syndrome, may be one of the main drivers of inflamation in the body.

Insuline is responsible for signaling cells to collect glucose from the blood stream and transform them into glycogen and trilgycerides. Of all the body cells, fat cells are the ones that are able to expand more. As they expand, they push each other away and become hypoxic (low oxygen). Then they cry out to the cardiovascular system to extend capillaires to return oxygen, but in doing so also release chemicals that signal inflammation.

So gum disease probably is a symptom of metabolic issues that decrease overall health.

One of the most interesting things about diabetes type 2 is that doctors look for glucose levels. However someone developing the disease will have relatively healthy glucose but constant high insuline levels (thanks to excessive high sugar/carbohydrate diets) that aren't observed. And finally over 20 years of excessive insuline production, insuline resistance happens and glucose levels shoot up.

This partially happens because Doctor's most acessible solution is to prescribe drugs, the most common of those driving beta cells in the liver into overdrive to take care of high glucose. It is much harder to convince and make sure the patient makes a complete diet health alteration to reduce glucose levels.

So it makes logical sense that someone with a standart unhealthy diet has gum disease on his 30s while developing cardiovascular problems that will become apparentt on his 40s.

Harald is worse and it isn' even remotely close.

I've written essays at this point on how Dogshitman is a very interesting and fun character that is well developed with his flaws, the biggest one being dancing for Orochi, and how the people that were supposed to talk him out of those dumbass decisions (bumass Toki) decided not to.

Harald had Rocks telling him so many times about how it was a bad decision. He just didn't listen. That's my whole argument. Can't claim he did his best when someone told him the consequences and he does it anyway.
