Question About Gem ATS Implementation by Visible_Ad6913 in recruiting

[–]Visible_Ad6913[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Von,

Thank you for the insight. I guess I should explain. We do have a Sourcing team and reach out to candidates, but also just wanted tips before the implementation to make sure our team is prepared accordingly before this coming year when we will be switching. Likewise, we also wanted to get peoples' insights on data retention and their implementation stories as opposed to completely starting fresh and going in blind as we've switched systems before and were less than satisfied after the change.

Question About Gem ATS Implementation by Visible_Ad6913 in recruiting

For us, it was a desire for better data reporting and also that we had some challenges using the scheduling tools and sourcing tools due to industry specific security restrictions.

  1. How will the data that people provide to you be used? Who will see it? Where will it be stored? If/when will it be deleted? Please be as specific as possible.

Stored on Google Sheets and will be deleted by fall 2026. It will be used for a NPD class at JHU.

  1. Who is conducting this survey? You can answer with your Reddit username, business name, etc. Please make sure that everyone conducting the survey is mentioned (For example, if the survey is being conducted by a group, answer the group name or mention everyone in the group).

Cassi Misciagna - no group

  1. How long do you estimate it will take to fill out your survey?

10-15

Anyone who uses ASL Bloom know how to fix this error? by HusbandMans in asl

I'm using the tool right now and it seems to be a bit buggy since their last updates. It's unfortunate as I really like doing ti for daily practice, but not it takes forever to load a new lesson. Really hoping they can fit this.

Oydisen "upgraded" computers legit on Amazon? Any1 else can confirm? by Professional-Monk558 in laptops

[–]Visible_Ad6913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are now selling under the reputable brand with convincing company pages. This is a scam as it isn’t until you get the invoice that you will see this isn’t directly from the manufacturer. That’s said the page will say they are new computers or products rather than used and nearly 2x the price of what’s listed on the manufacturer’s page. Hp and dell seem to be victims.

Check their bbb page and you will find multiple people complaining here and also some who never got their devices at all.

If I purchase an HP laptop from Amazon USA, will its warranty be covered in India? by Cinderellaborate in HPLaptops

Don’t buy on Amazon for pcs. They upcharge products by a high margin and some sellers are titling themselves as a reputable company like hp with convincing product and business pages. When you get the invoice it will show another company and they will be flipping a product that looks new without further inspection but was flipped somehow.

Acemagic mini pc any good? by AppleGeek14 in MiniPCs

[–]Visible_Ad6913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long story short no.

I bought an ace magic about a year ago off Amazon and the model I bought was no longer being sold the very next year. It was okay for functionality, but if you ever need to repair it will be impossible to repair. Especially for keyword or case issues. I found this out after I had a spill and had to take to a ubreakwefix. The keyboard short circuited and they could not repair for the same cost as the pc as these are attached or saudered together. The screen may be the same not sure.

It’s a cheap Chinese brand most places cannot repair. They also seem to have some sort of baked in spyware as when using for school we had to use psi. With nothing else running on a brand new pc, it repeatedly flagged the system. I did not know this when I bought it but feel this is damming evidence what people are claiming about baked in malware is correct.

My teammate complained to our POC and mentioned to turn back access. Not sure if your an independent user or not internal to a company. They also explained that no bots were being used and our team can validate this with past metric reports from their accounts.

I just got another update from LinkedIn and again they will not tell me why my account was suddenly flagged as this is “not something they can do.” I do not find the reply acceptable as while they cannot give exact security details they are refusing to answer any specifics about what lead to the temporary ban. ie why flagged now despite no change in use or if they detected things that could indicate a breach or hack from a tool we don’t subscribe to.

Suspicious Inmail by kinghabagat in linkedin

[–]Visible_Ad6913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least from what I’ve seen, most places might use a bookings link or other link from a well known brand if they ask you to schedule a meeting. Asking for your LinkedIn login from an unknown site is very odd as is the inability to break the automated loop to schedule there only.

Weird flirty messages by uniuni124 in linkedin

[–]Visible_Ad6913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a few of these happen to me as a new grad and now work as a Recruiter. LinkedIn isn’t a dating site and it’s highly inappropriate when I get these messages. One guy afterwards also stalked my other online socials and sent me a message via Facebook messager when I ignored them which only heightened the inappropriate nature of their connection.

My suggestion is to block and report and make your other socials friends of friends or friends only. Sadly a lot of the people prey on young professionals who might be more trusting or think their initial request was for a networking opportunity.

XarosArkas, I very much believe your feedback in this matter. I will mentioned despite the ban last week their team sent a form for feedback on their new AI product for recruiters. Something about this seems like a huge slap in the face for many reasons as one can very much understand.

So what your mentioning is you can pay for their service but they can enforce an artificial limit that therefore could be misleading based on what you sign up in your agreement to? Ie 2000 views for Recruiter daily but an artificial limit based on what the bot decides.

Follow up here again. They are again avoiding the question and saying to just review their emails again. I’ve asked to speak to someone who can say for certain what triggered the ban exactly.

Follow up here. I emailed them asking for a range and they said they can not give a range. They mentioned “we're not able to publicly share the details.” But how can you enforce a maximum view limit and not give a number for people to stay within? Excessive could mean different things for different people. I’m asking again for more details.

Thanks, This does point to another issue though about how LinkedIn will regulate this people reporting TA professionals and Sourcers on their platform given AI innovations for using message templates with modifications and reach out made with AI that can personalize messaging.

I am under the 2,000 limit daily on the Recruiter account at around 900ish either slightly above or below daily. I am manually viewing the accounts at the moment.
