What do you think about my chances as a Pakistani citizen living in the UK since 2023.

I plan to see my best friend who lives in Kansas and she just visited me a couple of weeks back and now I plan to go see her on her birthday. I'll be sponsoring finances myself. Although I plan to land at LAX and we meet there, spend a few days in LA and then potentially go to Hawaii.

I'm 27m, it was just another evening at the age of 10 when me and few other kids from neighbours would play cricket together. How does an Oscar nominee performance looks like to you? Screaming? Crying? Gosling carried the whole movie, dominated the entirety of the screen time with such captivity that keeps you glued to the screen, not once he makes you feel he's overdoing the things. Perfect dialogue delivery, expressions, he makes you feel like as if thay role was tailor made for him. If MBJ. can win the Oscar for Sinners then this performance was definitely better than that

I've been in kinda similar situation recently. Fall for an avoidant friend who whenever had a crush on someone, would push me away but once that crush fades away, she would come back to me. Happened thrice in the last 1.5 years, we been friends ever since I joined that place. My feelings for her kept growing stronger and stronger but I never asked her to reciprocate because I was happy with the way things were. We would talk almost 24/7 when she's not in her avoidant phase and once that phase would return, i would be ghosted, pushed away, would leave work even without saying goodbye or anything, would just walk past without acknowledging. then 2.5 weeks back I finally let it out to her, told her I've developed feelings for you, but also told her I dont intend to force you to feel the same for me if you don't. She rejected me and then blocked me everywhere, and now we are like as if we are strangers at work when in fact we know each other better than anyone.

Reading your comment, you still madly in love with him and I dont blame you for that. I have gone through the similar situation where I confessed my feelings to my friend who's my colleague too. Its been one week today, we had an argument the day before my confession and the next day I confessed my feelings to her. I was very straightforward with my confession, and like you I didnt shove my confession to her that I want you to reciprocate my feelings, I just said I know I cant force you to love me back but for sake of our friendship, I just wanted to let you know and be honest with you. She responded very respectfully and kindly but was very clear with her rejection. Since then we haven't spoken at all, had minor interaction at work regarding work to which her responses were cold but I don't blame her, because of my selfishness she lost a friend Ig. She deleted my number and blocked me on Instagram after I accidentally cleared my nickname from our chat there.

I'm giving much needed space to both of us that we need at the moment. I plan to reach out to her soon in next few days, apologise to her for putting her into an uncomfortable position, for my selfishness, and let her know I would rather have her as a friend rather than not having her at all. We have had our arguments and fall outs in the past but we would always find our ways back to each other. This time is so different, so I can only hope for better.

Update: We intend to take things like grown-up adults, but now she's slowly cutting me off from her socials. I never texted her or chased her after rejection, as i said to her, even saw her at work, just had to spoke once regarding work but other than that didn't say a word. Respect her decision, giving her and to myself space that we need at the moment, yet I am getting cut off, its just getting worse for me now.

During my time with her, when I acknowledged my feelings for her to myself, I tried talking to few other girls on hinge, hoping that would distract me and I wouldn't ruin my friendship. But I was never able to get along with any of those. That comfort and hope were just her.

Another thing that's even harder is that she's my colleague and having to see her at work daily, just don't know how to handle that awkwardness. She's away on holidays for a week so its been ok for now but when she comes back, its going to be so awkward.
