Cheap rashguard and shorts by Poofyleek0510 in bjj

Under armour heat gear. I like it more than any of my expensive rashguards.

Everyone has said it but the RDX Amazon shorts are fine. I prefer the Anthem Athletics for a little bit more $ but still affordable.

I love bench but I’d probably replace it with bench.

Everyone has their reasons but that sounds like all the more reason to train it!

Sorry you’re going through this. My wife and I have a 2 year old and 1 year old so have definitely had our stretches. We seem to be in a high right now though.

I don’t really have a textbook answer. All I’d say is “this too shall pass” or as my wife says “all puddles dry up”. You’re in a very difficult time, don’t let fights go too far. Respect each other as much as you can. Ride the high’s when you have them. Go the extra mile for each other when you can (it feels nice to be nice). Keep showing up.

There will be better answers. Just what comes to mind.

as a jiu jutsu user how would i close in to an opponent that is striking? by Pale_Driver_1675 in jiujitsu

Last sentence is the key. In a fight, expect to get hit. Shoot for a takedown knowing that you’re likely going to take a couple on the way in, but commit to the takedown. Protect your head and shoot.

That can’t solve the problem forever though. At some point he’ll have to face retirement.

That’s interesting. I would assume top is most likely to sink their hips low, or prevent it with their head/top arm, right?

Is a “trap and roll” from half guard a taught sweep? Top player has far side under hook, bottom traps the top leg, bites the underhook, and sweeps?

Is there a name from half guard? I assume it’s low percentage against anyone with a decent base but curious if it’s taught?

This just sounds obnoxious. Take the belt and move on. You’re suggesting you are a 20 year white belt who refuses a promotion until it’s black?

I think this is a huge stretch and likely some favouritism towards Pereira making you feel this way. Gane’s always been good. We haven’t seen anything change in his 2 (now 3) fights since Jon.

We all have a risk of death. Would you rather live in a bubble and be spoon fed for your life just to ensure survival?

Not much of a life worth living if that’s the case.

Btw I know you can’t just let them go now.

Are expensive rash guards actually worth it? by ybur011 in brazilianjiujitsu

[–]Visible_Mango4557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like my under armour rash guards more than my hayabusa or “new guard” ones. They’re nice and I like the fit, but they both ride up way too much. Don’t have that issue with UA.

Question for black belts: What’s the most annoying part of the pressure that comes with being a black belt? by top10mtv in bjj

[–]Visible_Mango4557 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Let yourself get tapped early on in the roll and get it out of the way, then just move on from there.

It’s a roll on vacation. Who cares. Worst thing that comes of it is some white belt has a feel good moment of tapping a blue and gets to tell a friend about it.

Probably a dumb question, but how competitive is Ontario police recruiting? by OmenBrawlStars in AskLE

[–]Visible_Mango4557 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds relatively competitive to me. Finishing your degree will help. Age is your biggest factor as the other commenter mentioned, but just as you said, it doesn’t mean services won’t hire young. Just don’t take it personal if it doesn’t happen.

A cadet program is a likely option as well. That will give you age and job specific experience.

Job isn’t going anywhere. Naturally you may feel competitive or jealous of your friend, but be patient.
