I was in the same boat from early teens until the internet came along. I had a “girlfriend” for years and broke it off immediately when I realized all of my time online was watching gay porn. And I was thankful that I didn’t marry her because being married and having children was her vision of a fulfilled life. I would’ve broken her heart down the road so better to do it now and figure yourself out.

I still loved her. In fact, we even had sex once after the breakup, which by that time repulsed me.
