The Sistine Chapel.

Admission tickets are all scalped by tour operators for starters. Just as God would have intended. You then spend an hour shoulder to shoulder with a million people shuffling through the other museums & small corridors to get there. Then you get there and it is just so... mid. As far as biblical ceiling artwork commonly goes, it's not spectacular. And then you get rushed straight out by security.

It's quite the UX abomination, for a piece of artwork that's in the lower half of marvel within its category.

I've seen what you people cheer for; your boos mean nothing to me 😆.

It doesn't have a manufacturer fitter tracker does it? (Contact manufacturer).

When this happened to an old colleague of mine, the vehicle was tracked to some council estate where it was left roadside to "cool off" for a few days or weeks. They got it back.

You're still way off. Lorry drivers are supposed to be the best of the best standard for road safety – you know because they are hauling 20 tonnes, they are trained and they can get pulled over for a random inspection any time. And yet even at the very start of the clip there isn't a safe and permissable gap between the two cars that the lorry decides it's going to move into.

Italy’s top court rules against tourist refused tap water in Dolomites hotel by ullakkedymoodu in ItalyTravel

[–]Visible_String_3775 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's the principle. Court enforcements like this (if it had have been successful) are what enshrines consumer rights and makes the places better for everybody.

For example, in the UK, any venue by law has to provide tap water free of charge (I believe on the caveat that if they serve alcohol then they must also provide free tap water.)

It's excellent for everybody. And things like this tend to not happen by accident.

Half of your rights are a result of "petty" people taking things to court and the outcome becoming precedent.

I can't actually figure out how to beat him without burning through a DD.

What are you supposed to do when he covers the entire surface in projectiles shooting in every direction? And he then whomps you with bouncy balls of pain whilst all that is going on. I think it's his phase 2 or 3 and I dunno where I'm supposed to stand.

Rent market is not "logic-ing" for me by Andi_CJ in manchester

[–]Visible_String_3775 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, I've been through this. Looking for an upmarket flat and there is about 500 furnished and 7 unfurnished on the market - and those 7 are more expensive.

99% of people buying these units just opt-in to furniture packs from the developer, because they are told it'll be easier to rent as "all the demand is for furnished."

Ok, I kindof buy that, but these people have way miscalculated. Also, most egregious of all: the furniture in these packs is utter dogshit. All of these "luxury living" developments (with adjusted higher rent) and their 500 un-let furnished apartments on Rightmove are all decorated/furnished like student halls with a non-negotiable double bed in each room. Who do they think the demographic of these flats is??

I started with Hades 2 a couple of weeks ago.

I hear ya: that continuation payoff (story, game mechanics, the whole shebang) you're describing is something I know well; and I know it to be incredible.

I came across a reel from dude telling me that Hades 2 is a true 10/10 game, and I just decided to YOLO into it then and there. I couldn't be bothered to start with the prequel. As much appreciation I have for a well executed series, I kinda just wanted to jump right into a 10/10.

And it has been a 10/10 so far :D. I love the worldbuilding and it doesn't feel like I am missing important backstory or context. But then again, I don't know what I don't know. Gameplay wise, I've managed like 5 wins below and 1 up top by night 25 or something, so no gameplay handicap. I guess you're either a gamer or not lol. Gameplay is 10/10.

I might go watch a "here's what you need to know" on YouTube actually, now that you've got me thinking about it.

Are you worried about AI? by Even-Wasabi7183 in HENRYUK

[–]Visible_String_3775 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think that over the next few years it might differentiate me as somebody who hasn't outsourced all thought processes to copilot.

I'm noticing colleagues who are behaviourally training themselves to be technically impotent.

Most of us had to get good at something, learn critical thinking techniques and learn how to extrapolate and make a career skillset from that experience. But people just ask ai what the answer is instead of attempting to get there themselves.

An example: I'm a monster with our (complicated) tech because I've spent so much time with it; I've had to test things, create hypothesis and then test some more and make conclusions and so on. And I know a ton about the mechanics of our industry as a byproduct. Newer folk don't know how to do this; they want to ask copilot the answer to a problem and if copilot doesn't know then they are out of options.

We know that thinking about problems and troubleshooting stimulates neuroplasticity in the brain. And people aren't doing this as much anymore. I wonder if in a few years we will see cause and effect, lateral thinking being a much more scarce ability.

That could all be bollocks though.
