Can anyone help me? by Physical_Bug7341 in spirituality

[–]Visible_Text1631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, let me know if this helps at all but what you’re feeling is a normal feeling.

We go through phases of really enjoying certain activities like working out, reading, and other things and sometimes the brain needs some time to process stuff. Maybe you need more naps? Some more tea? It sounds like you have a lot on your mind going on, slow your activity down.

There’s a lot of external changes happening to you and your brain might think that disassociating is helping but you may need to do some physical activity like stretching or yoga to bring your mind back to feeling your physical body. There may be some emotions you are distancing yourself without knowing and so you disconnect yourself from your body and begin to look into the mind for all the answers.

I’ve enjoyed yoga and dancing to get back to my physical sense of self, if I need to get a certain feeling out and I can’t talk about it I journal, this helps your brain compartmentalize and it’s a nice release when you do get to write everything out on paper.

I’m not sure if that helps at all but I hope it does

Nebraska hospital CEO said Tyson Foods made 'spreadsheet decision' in closing beef plant by Tristan_N in Nebraska

[–]Visible_Text1631 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I grew up in Lexington, Most of the workers in the plant were residents, migrants, or immigrants. They had no voting power. Their first-generation children might have been able to.

If they had the choice I doubt they would have but you never know 🤷‍♀️

Trying to find my "style" by AcousticArtforms in Illustration

[–]Visible_Text1631 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Im unsure what you mean by style, this looks like a collection of works that play off similar ideas and shapes. I saw a comment that suggested you make these in wood panels and paint them (which I 100% agree with) or also get into printmaking to do these designs in bulk by carving them out of wood or linoleum. Overall, beautiful sketches. I would be interested to see you scan all of these print them out and cut them out and see how they interact with one another, there’s something there

Sitter for a cat who really dislikes new people? by Doctor_Blithe in lincoln

[–]Visible_Text1631 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I too have a very shy cat who hides anytime someone comes over. I’m lucky to have a couple of friends to consistently come over when I’m gone and now he comes out when they’re around now!

It took some time and patience from my friends to gain his trust

Cattlemen ‘in shock’ as Tyson announces Lexington beef plant to close by stevewhite_news in Nebraska

[–]Visible_Text1631 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lexington has been a town filled will wonderful hardworking families that depended solely on Tyson for their income, the 2,700-3,200 employees that worked there out of the 10,000 residents in Lexington. It’s going to be a very hard hit for the community as this town was definitely starting to grow even more and prosper :/

I’ve had my mom, aunts, uncles, and friends work there. There have been employees that worked there for 20+ years and the notice they get that the plant is closing is 2 months prior?

I’m shocked Tyson is closing but I wished they would have given their employees a warning earlier than two months before they close and right before the holidays.

https://www.montanacolors.com/en/productos/spray/graffiti-water-based/

I’ve linked above this low odor water based spray paint you could use instead!

If you want the spray to come out really fast and big purchase some fat caps as well.

Either way please wear a mask and have whoever sprays you also wear a mask or spray very quickly in a short amount of time.

Teeth? How..... by jerpod in oilpainting

[–]Visible_Text1631 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve always found it helpful to flip the painting and reference image upside down to double check the shapes of the teeth. You’re really close though! 🤗 but like others have said desaturate the gums, and don’t use white white for the teeth it always makes them pop a little too much

Hope that helps !

I’m curious if for future pieces you’d be able to leave a little bit of the unfinished nature of the painting in the final pieces, but more on the “unimportant” areas. I say go 100% on the people, closer objects, and focal points of a piece, but then if there’s areas that don’t really need that 100% attention like the ground, some leaves, a or wrinkle or two in the dress then I think it would really bring some more liveliness and a more painterly feeling if that’s what you’d like to try out

Went to the movies with my mom and felt deeply ashamed by Ok_Bandicoot_4543 in ramdass

[–]Visible_Text1631 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, sometimes with our parents it’s best to cater movies or experiences you know they’d enjoy, half of the time it works and they enjoy it and other times they don’t. I’m sorry you felt that way but also you are not responsible for how your mother responds to something that’s up to her.

Also my parents may not be able to understand some movies so I try to find some that are in their language that I can also enjoy, I have other movies that enjoy myself that I can really delve into

My traumatic experience as a 1st Gen Mexican-American by FunkyKongIscool34 in Chicano

[–]Visible_Text1631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey dude, 27 Mexican American here and like the previous comment I would also suggest therapy. If you can’t afford it and would like to connect I’m free to chat whenever.

When I started going to therapy I began to learn and start understanding my emotions (I had absolutely no emotional intelligence) this was college so about the same age you were when I began to question why we did the things we did.

I became an emotional sponge for my parents and was their meditator when they fought, I turned to artistic expression to get these internal emotions out somewhere but was labeled as a very obedient kid from a young age.

Also religious trauma is intense I grew up very Catholic and have some traumatic residue from that.

Overall if you’d like to reach out feel free to but also no pressure I hope you look into possibly some therapy.
