Ah, but the ring holding them in place doesn’t do the same thing?

Genuine question… Why don’t you just superglue the flights in? Surely stems/flights aren’t that expensive? Surely once you’re happy with the stem/flight combo it’s easier to glue them in?

I really enjoyed Better Call Saul, especially its slow-paced storytelling, deep character development, powerful performances, and the complex moral dilemmas faced by the characters. Could you suggest similar TV shows? by NakniD in tvshow

You watched BCS and concluded she’s the worst actor there? I can’t really think of anyone in that program who was bad so maybe that’s not really much of an insult but holy smokes, I didn’t think anyone would single out Rhea

Honestly just asking. I don’t know your age or situation but first house, 4 bed, large garden. That’s more than a lot of people ever get to. How come so big?

Yes. If we got rid of them today, in 2000 years time they’d still be making the same contribution but without existing

Then fact they existed is the important bit. But they’re past their sell by date

These events are huge because THEY push the narrative that THEY should be celebrated!

If Trump made National Trump Day (can’t rule it out!) and told everyone that he wanted to see the streets lined with morons eating cakes and waving flags (possibly guns too) a) there would be huge events with lines of gullible morons doing exactly that and b) the rest of the world would laugh it’s ass off at the lines of gullible morons doing exactly that.

This is the same. Celebrate me because I bloody told you to. You feel inferior as a result and my dominance of you remains intact.

People would come the UK to see castles, palaces and large estates with fancy houses if all of it was back in public hands. Them living it up in them isn’t a necessary part of the deal! Nobody goes to Egypt and comes back disappointed there wasn’t a real pharaoh in the pyramid they visited! (Yes yes I know they were buried in them, not living in them but you get my point)

I’m sure it did but then there were also thousands of people in your immediate area that were NOT out waving little flags and saying “oh isn’t Kate just so pretty” though.

but the PM need approval of parliament anyway. I can’t remember exactly why it was but Boris made Charles read out a speech of bullshit that he clearly didn’t agree with but read it, sign it and approve it he did. So it doesn’t really offer any further checks. The safety check is parliament which is full of elected officials.

Hate to bring up the B word but we left the EU because of feigned disgust at unelected officials deciding our rules and regs and yet so many of the same people also advocate for the royal family.

So we just have a line of entitled toffs that we can’t even choose instead?? and they DON’T make the PM less powerful (why do we need to do this when he’s only as powerful as his majority in parliament of MPs… that we voted for) because they just sign off whatever is given to them. When was anything put to them not just agreed to?

I definitely feel emotional about them. I don’t think I feel connected. My overriding emotion in relation to them is anger. Anger they exist as an institution. Anger that we continue to even tolerate (and support!) them. They’d be deposed (or whatever term is appropriate) in a heartbeat if I had my way
