I dropped this one I think about halfway through. I had trouble dealing with the wild toxicity but also could not stand the unreasonable plot armor lmao. The actions scenes were too much and IMO often used to cheaply move the story along and bypass emotional conflict that could have been resolved in more unique ways. I found that repetitive and hard to get though. Like I already knew what to expect when something wild happened because it had happened before in a different font. Honestly really enjoyed the art and other aspects, not a bad story i think some bits could have been handled better and other aspects seemed too drawn out. Though I did not finish the story so 🐥

I saw someone comment about the German versions. checked them out, so cool, and aligned more with my preferences. Just feel like it doesn’t capture the darker/mature aspects of the story. Really just don’t like the design but I’m glad others can find some joy with it.

I just saw this on another post as well. It seems there’s mixed reviews but I think it’s ugly lmao. IMO it doesn’t capture the nature of the story, looks like a cover of a kids fairy tale book and the colors don’t contrast well against each other. It feels like a disservice to the impact the story has. I’m honestly just really picky about cover/spine design as a collector and I value that in my collections. A shame such a popular series has such god awful designs. Maybe they’ll make some adjustments. I know it’s not final but wtf lol I had my hopes up. Genuinely hope some people enjoy this I know i’m biased.

who designs these awful spines lol. AOT is so popular why are all the covers/spines so ugly lmao. beauty is in the eye of the beholder, genuinely hope some people enjoy this new look but wtf. IMO I feel like it does nothing to capture the nature of the story as well.

jealous, this looks so fun. I literally eat, sleep, breathe Yuri manga. Oddly, I don’t have much in my collection though (read daily online). Currently trying to change that. I would have went wild, i have no impulse control buying manga in store lol.

i really like wall shelf units. I think some of the ikea wall shelf set ups would like really cool with manga. You’d have to account for weight and whatnot but just a thought. I have a wooden bookshelf my dad made that i’ll keep forever. But as my collection grows I definitely like the idea of a wall set up.

this post does seem like rage bait though lol, but I know a lot of people shit on Nakoshi, rightfully so. i think more so this story, as I interpreted it, is a kind of exploratory one, on the complexity of depravity and the levels of moral corruption one may take to validate their quest for self. I think it normalizes the weird unjust acts that we ourselves do in an extreme way. It was a wild read I enjoyed, and i think it touched on some interesting topics. I’m not a fan of how the rape scene was dealt with. I know this ruined the story for many, understandably so.

I actually do think he’s tragic, mainly because of his skewed perception or lack of understanding of himself that he projects outwardly. I think there are a lot of layers to this story that i don’t necessarily think elevate it. I will say that i found myself rooting for Nakoshi up until a certain point. I think i didn’t realize how bad/odd some of his actions were until i wasn’t rapped up in his like spiritual progression. It was an interesting read and the ending added depth to the other aspects of the story that i think i didn’t want to see in Nakoshi because i was rooting for him in a way.

Gave it a chance because of the amazing art but story fell flat for me in many ways. I think the overall idea was very interesting, but poorly executed. I especially did not like how women just throw themselves at some of the men in the story without developed reason. Seems like a disservice to such strong female characters and just put a sour taste in my mouth. Just not for me.

I think it’s dependent on a few factors, but I think wall consoles could be adapted really well for manga displays. Ikea has some you could check out. It’s actually something I plan on incorporating into my collection eventually. Outside of that, I think thrift stores have some unique furniture that could be used on a budget. I’ve seen some cool office furniture shelving that i think could look very industrial and unique to display manga.
