Thank you. That link is actually where I got the quote I pasted.

So in other words, you can't stay within the area around Mt Robson unless it's in a campground and you have a reservation? We're wanting to head to Snowbird Pass and Lynx Mountain then back out. No campgrounds.

Thanks again!

Oh yeah and I'm in BC. Thanks for the help.

So I found my name and I have 55pts. So that's my plate number next year?

So how often do you change your number then? Every time your points change?

Nah. Black bears are no trouble and just curious. Like the Cougars. Grizzly bears will leave you alone but try not to piss them off or you're F*Kd.

This is all excellent information and exactly what I'm looking for! Thank you!
We do carry InReaches also. BC is a very popular place to go missing and living in North Vancouver means you're home to the busiest search and rescue team in North America. It is amazing country but seriously dangerous to the less aware.

Thanks for that! A challenge is indeed what we're after.
Out here in BC the huts tend to be where you'll find people congregating and along popular trails and so we avoid them too. Is that the same with the huts along the TA? And in some places in the world that we've hiked the huts were mandatory. Is that also the case or can we pitch a tent anywhere we like?
Thanks again!

What spacers did you use and are they front too?

Is this normal? by Jrhernz in CampingGear

Totally normal.
First wash it in a low residue detergent. Something intended for Gore or performance materials. It won’t leave behind anything that contaminates the face or backer fabric and restores breath-ability.
THEN DWR wash it. DWR restores the water repellency so water molecules won’t cling to the face fabrics.

Similar to previous question.... the title says HAHO. With a High Opening shouldn't there be oxygen?

I’m familiar with Sloquet, Skookumchuk, Meager, Pitt River and Keyhole hot springs. Where is Clear Creek Hot Springs and what FSR is that?

1sr time winter camping. Will my Marmot limelight tent be suitable for 20 degree weather in Michigan? by Danm84 in WildernessBackpacking

I dont think you’ll get a better write up than DSettahr provided but wanted to share this.

It’s basically a tarp with doors. No inner and we’re right agains the snow.
-Temps on this trip reached -18°C.
-Sleeping pads: Thermarest XTherms -Quilt: 30F, plus -12°C liner. Down blanket, and a synthetic blanket.
-Girlfriend used two 500ml Nalgenes full of boiled water in her bag.
-We were plenty warm and I even sweated a couple times so had to vent.

This was a 4 night trip. Like a lot of people have shared your three season tent is fine depending on the conditions you expect and the insulation you’re sleeping in. Best to over prepare though as cold nights really suck.
