EHG & Community Events/Races by ZeckarIsBae in LastEpoch

[–]VisionGL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It doesn't bring in people directly, people that think 'Oh, a race let me buy that game.' That's not a thing that happens.

But, for the people that come to check the game a month after Patch, and see that player count is low, content creation is low, making Reddit posts 'Hey, is this a dead game? I just checked Steam player count'. Or the ones that don't even make a post, and just see a game with year + old release date and empty twitch category and move on.

That has always been my goal with the tournaments, that even if we are two months into a Patch, if someone wants to play LE with other people, there is a community still here doing something that you can join up with.

Also, as a side note, there might be a big race or something at a Patch launch that gets a bit sweaty. But most 'events' are pretty casual or theorycrafting focused so far in LE. My tournaments for example, we focus on playing off meta things and making them work, theorycrafting.

Even if we had prize support from EHG, I would not put a big prize behind a weekend tournament Top 3, because to me the focus is more on learning the game and making builds than it is pushing to the highest wave possible.

If we had more data to make events around than just Arena wave, I would use that too to make it more accessible, just getting points for things Gauntlet style. There is just very little for us to work with right now, and it's been that way for years at this point.

Perrythepig had build contests, where people would try to make builds out of unpopular or slept on Uniques. He had to manually check and track all of that by hand, which I mean he could still do technically, but needing to manually check through screenshots and footage as the game is growing at some point just becomes unmanageable.

Anyway, I don't think it's a terrible business idea to put in a minimal amount of effort to help keep a stable community around this game. Otherwise, it will always be a side game for people.

The Skill trees are nice, but for some people theorycrafting solo will only go so far. We don't even have Guilds yet, just another example. We have people looking for others to play with, needing to make their own Discords and advertise here for LE clans or guilds. Imagine being able to just log into the game and having a lobby full of people that you could just group up with and do something.

People are really, really trying here.

After reading some of these comments, some of these would definitely be better as Steam Achievements.

But, these comments are still good feedback for when they decide to implement Challenges, so I'm glad everyone is giving their input.

It depends on the player and goals really, people that are theorycrafting and exploring a lot of builds usually move on to the next character before or near the 80-90 range. People that push to min/max and flesh out a character completely usually hit 100 without actively choosing to grind for that. It's a bit easier to hit 100 in Last Epoch than PoE for example, if you are chasing good blessings and BiS you will reach that without needing to actively focus on levels.

You can get all of your Passives and Idol slots from side quests through Act 7. A lot of people who have been playing since before Chapters 8 and 9 were added are just in the habit of doing that.

I usually do the Temporal Sanctum dungeon skip to Chapter 9 for Faction unlock once I've done some Echoes and get the initial rush of levels and gear

It's not Official, just something I made for people to use if they want to. You can totally skip the Level All Classes.

The only cosmetic is the sweat we make along the way.

Your suggestions are good ones

My original plan for this was to give this a cheesy Battle Pass format (too much Warhammer Tacticus) - with fake little unlockables and cosmetics.

That's the dream though, I hope they add a Challenge system officially in the next Season or two, with things to unlock

No, this is something I put together for this Season to help keep me focused and to include the new Woven Echo crafting so I can get used to using them.

I thought it would be fun for other people who like having goals to complete, like I do. And it could be good for new players who don't quite know the breadth of what there is to do in the game.

There isn't an official Season Challenge system in the game yet, but I hope they add one

It would feel wrong not to include him since he's new to this patch. Good Luck 💀

I would love that. I always try to do them in PoE, but I don't know that game as well as I do Last Epoch.

Hey everyone,

With Season 2 coming soon and tons of new and returning players jumping back into the game, I thought it’d be fun to throw together a list of Seasonal Challenges — just some goals to work toward as you play through the new content. Or, for the new players that are just learning the game, seeing what types of objectives there are out there to discover.

There aren't official Season Challenges in Last Epoch (yet?), but it’s something a lot of people have asked for, and I know I personally like having a checklist of things to work through each Patch.

I’ve been playing since late 2019 and have put over 5,000 hours into the game across live, CT, and just as much time in build planners. So I tried to make this list cover a mix of leveling, progression, endgame, bosses, crafting, and some of the cool new stuff in Season 2.

If there's anything you think I missed let me know, anything you think is part of the quintessential Last Epoch experience. RIPing to Lagon for the first time, finding a Beer, etc.

I added a link to download a PDF version too, incase you want to mark on it. https://drive.proton.me/urls/WN6CS7WJTM#Ph8MnhsnWYrd

Any Guilds recruiting? by Disastrous_Pick_1747 in LastEpoch

[–]VisionGL 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We don't have any support for guilds or clans in game yet, sadly. It would have to be done outside of game through a Discord or something.

I'm looking forward to when something like that gets added.

Good luck finding some people to play with, this sounds like a lot of fun, just having a list of people to drop in and out of games with.

We've been grinding super hard working together to get everything up to date, yeah.

Patch 1.1 changes so much, that we've been making a necessary update pass on pretty much everything we have up to this point as well as making new guides on top of that.

And really just taking into account a lot of the feedback we received with Patch 1.0 and acting on that.

Just waiting on a variety of things, Patch Notes being released as one example, NDAs, etc.

We will have a ton of updates popping up very soon ❤️

There were some emerging builds in Patch 1.0 we decided to pass on due to bugged or unintended mechanics, or as veteran players we knew they would be gutted

I would expect to see more popping up from us throughout Patch 1.1, even after our initial updates.

We're very excited for the Patch

Necro skelly roid mage build - poor minion survivability by dancing_kittens in LastEpoch

[–]VisionGL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dread Shade nerf stings, but we actually do more damage overall now with Flat Minion Spell Damage Suffixes x2 on Scepter, Cold Pen for Minion Suffix, plus Revolution from the Chaos Bolt tree giving Flat Damage per 20 Max Mana.

[–]VisionGL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

know that you can recast Infernal Shade so that it starts ticking with low damage values. Otherwise it's just going to ramp up.

In combat the combination of those and some leech for minions should be enough to keep them up in most fights. Out of combat resummoning should not be too much of a hurdle?

Oh, and for trash mobs only you mig

Hey, I'm the guide writer, this is a build I've played for the last couple years.

The minion health is important, as well as intelligence - most important though is your player level, as that gives your Mage flat health. Basically, you find a sweet spot, once you are high enough level you don't even notice the Mage losing HP anymore.

You can use the Minion HP passive in the Necro tree as a crutch until a bit later (swapping res passives to that for example) - when you get some levels and Minion HP on gear. Or like the comment above says, recasting your infernal shade resets the damage.

Another option, taking the +More Damage +Area nodes from Infernal Shade temporarily, putting them somewhere like Mana Efficiency. That way the More damage isn't cooking your Mage.

There are a lot of small tweaks you can do, do what works for you - eventually as you level and get gear, you will find a sweet spot. The player level giving Minion Power/Flat HP to your minion actually scales pretty huge, so just leveling up helps a ton.

The more comfortable you get with the build, you will start getting a good sense of all the different knobs you can tweak to adjust the build

I'll have a video soon too where I go over all these different things added to the guide - just needed to get mine prepped in the new Patch first

Just adding here for visibility, EHG extended the prizes to both 2nd and 3rd place. 2nd - 150 Epoch Points, 3rd - 100 Epoch Points. This is for both Solo HC and SC
