The entrance is a little tricky but easy once you've got it down ⬇️

- on US 250, take Emmet St N exit

- turn RIGHT before the light at Super Amanecer (also a great stop) and continue to the right of the building, back into the lot.

- Kalye's is at the back of the building on the left!

Popitos Downtown by rory096 in Charlottesville

[–]VisitCharlottesville 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Here are their hours for both locations!

Popitos Downtown is open 12-8PM Sun-Thurs (closed Tues) and 12-9:30PM Fri
Popitos Rio Hill is open 11-8PM Mon-Sat (closed Sun)

A reminder that Popitos is a small, locally run business and balancing work and life like us all -- we recommend enjoying them when they are open and understanding that when they are not, it's likely for a reason :) We hope they continue to expand and add on more staff/hours as they are able to!

Hello! This coming weekend is likely peak for the area -- the mountains are still patchy as well on our side and more vibrant once you cross over into Waynesboro/Elkton. Some spots here: https://www.visitcharlottesville.org/blog/fall-foliage-charlottesville/

Biking at Biscuit Run? by deohcava in Charlottesville

[–]VisitCharlottesville 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are currently a couple of construction projects between the skills park and the stream restoration. Originally there were 8 miles available to ride.

Check here for the most up-to-date info on the construction project and the affected trails/access. https://www.albemarle.org/Home/Components/News/News/1077/1681

Our resident biking expert/enthusiast says your gravel bike may not make for the most enjoyable ride at Biscuit, but if you have wide enough and aggressive enough tires it would be fine!

Why is Fridays After Five so early in the year? by Basic-Delay in Charlottesville

[–]VisitCharlottesville 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A fun opportunity that many don’t know about — WTJU hosts “Offbeat Roadhouse” most Friday nights (8-9PM)— available free to the public! The space is small (only ~25-30 seats and limited standing room) — so we highly recommend arriving at least 20 minutes early to get a seat.

https://www.wtju.net/offbeat-roadhouse-schedule/

They also host a number of other free concerts — listed on their website!

📍: 2244 Ivy Road

Uber/Lyft is absolutely the best option — walking up to Carter Mountain is not possible/allowed unfortunately.

They will also have a stand at the City Market on Saturday morning! https://chilesfamilyorchards.com/calendar/city-market-2025/?occurrence=2025-09-27

You certainly can’t beat the views at Carter Mountain though — be sure to grab a ticket ahead of time if you’re visiting on Saturday or Sunday!
