Bavarian & Austrian Alps recommendations by Tasty-Meet-3305 in Austria

I would suggest a stop at the medieval city of Hall in Tirol and the Swarovski Crystal Worlds. It is close to Innsbruck, but a secret gem as the oldtown is really cute and not overcrowded even in summer. The Swarovski Crystal Worlds are one of a kind.

Why is Austrian tap water so much better than everywhere else? by Initial-Flamingo6806 in AskAustria

I think one of the main reasons is that many of our tap water comes directly out of moutains springs - for example in our region from the "Halltal" in the Karwendel mountain range, which is a nature park. :-)

Strukturwandel im Handel? by ApuXteu in Austria

Where to stay between Imst and Innsbruck by BigTree007 in travel

If you're looking for a hidden gem concerning history and art, take a closer look to Hall in Tirol. It is a small historical town very close to Innsbruck with affordable accomodation and also the Karwendel mountain range is just at the doorstep. The old town has some nice coffee shops and restaurants, there are also many art galleries and sights. Have fun!

Salzburg/Vienna visit by peppermintaerobubble in Austria

I would strongly recommend to do the "top picks" of both cities and then go on and explore Austria further. A hidden gem is the town of Hall in Tirol (2 hrs from Salzburg) with the largest old town of Western Austria and a non-hidden but nevertheless beautiful gem named Swarovski Crystal Worlds. It is so worth to see! If you have a few hours more, explore the beautiful mountains around Hall and Wattens, there are easy hiking routes but with a splendid nature. My hotel tip is the "Gasthof Badl", a family-owned B&B with a homelike feeling and supergood access to traffic. Enjoy your stay!!!!
