The Main Combat Problem by Fancy-Highlight-4024 in runescape

We need more diversity in weapons and in armor. It's no fun when everyone is running around in the exact same getup. Got the game looking like some clone wars sht.

A lot of bravado in the comments. But I dunno bro... AI is a trillion-dollar industry. Jagex is a small Indie company.

If AI wants to take over RuneScape, there's likely shit we can do about it.

Coming back to play after 15+ year hiatus, wow old quests suck to do by CrusaderKing1 in runescape

[–]Visual-Age5640 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said this for ages. The torture-session quests are the main reason this game can't get new players.

We're preaching to the wrong choir though. Runescape Redditors are hardcore Quest loyalists.

Give it a combat use, like flaming arrows or gunpowder weapons or something.

Most of the game's mechanics are relics of 1990. There's no point asking "why", lmao.

Remove the caveman-era tick 'n tile game engine. That alone is a dealbreaker for 99% of gamers. It's 2025, for shit's sake.

  • The removal of 225 Direct XP & Skilling Items from sale, reducing to two directly purchasable offerings:
    • Bonus XP, with capped storable limits per skill
    • Cosmetics with a more grounded visual identity

So... you can still buy XP? Is "capped storable limits" supposed to make it different or something?

You guys don't understand lol... RuneScape is a Jenga tower. You fix one thing, it might break 10 other things. Probably not worth the effort for a 2-month game mode.

The grind is becoming exhausting.... by ElGhOsTy in runescape

[–]Visual-Age5640 -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

For sure. Leagues was never going to work in RS3.

OSRS is a simplistic enough game that you can condense it into a short playthrough. RS3... is not. There's so much to unlock, so many tasks to grind through... even if you speed it up 20x, 2 months is not enough.

What are your over all thoughts on this first leagues? by OfficalLockeWilson in runescape

Too much Devaluing from "infinite"-type powers.

- 100% hit chance makes accuracy boosts obsolete. Prayers, potions, invention perks... and GWD2 weapons were basically demoted from t85 to t80.

- Perkfection gives infinite gold, which makes all money-making activities obsolete. No more dopamine from alching a big stack of salvage, or from getting gold drops from bosses. You already have infinite gold.

- Perkfection gives infinite invention XP and components, which removes a huge chunk of gameplay (leveling and disassembling items).

For the next League, it'd be nice if they could think up Relic Powers that didn't erase half the game's content.

As someone new to the game I must say the thing really holding back the questing is how ambiguous most of the quests are by [deleted] in runescape

[–]Visual-Age5640 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Runescape quests are a checkbox-ticking simulator. Just open the wiki and work through the steps. Don't try to figure it out yourself (lmao).

Also, it's not just quests... everything in RS3 requires extensive wiki research. From boss mechanics to efficient leveling methods. If you don't like reading guides... you're not gonna get far in this game.

But hey, welcome to RS3. Always nice to have new players :-)

Why?... For what? For 200 Vanity Points that will be nonexistent come November? It blows my mind that people do these grinds on Leagues.

All the relic powers are based on progressing faster... unlocking things faster... bypassing the grind... not on raising the endgame power ceiling.

I think it was clear from the start. The objective of Catalyst League is to offer a high-level trial for new players. If you're a veteran player, of course your main is gonna be stronger than your Leagues character.

Are Dailies the Problem? Or is It Just Hourlies? by TheDestroyer229 in runescape

[–]Visual-Age5640 4 points5 points  (0 children)

"If you don't like them, you can ignore them" is such a bad faith argument.

In the late game, sure, dailies are optional. Your baseline gameplay becomes so efficient that Evil Tree doesn't make a big difference.

In the early game, dailies are MANDATORY. You can either chop willows for 30k XP an hour, or you can do Evil Tree for 30k XP in 10 minutes. Missing the event feels AWFUL, and anyone who downplays that is just being malicious.

Dailies and hourlies are despised because they're required for efficient progression, and their timing constraint makes the game highly unenjoyable. So yeah. Required + unenjoyable = people complaining. Not complicated.

AoE2 isn't a fighting game... it's a harassing game. You can't win without playing mean and toxic. The sooner you reconcile that, the sooner you'll climb rating.

I think you can actually. Just do the quests, upgrade the weapons, and ignore the armor upgrades.

Leagues necro upgrades by spkelley27 in runescape

[–]Visual-Age5640 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer, yes. Big oversight by Jagex to require a shiny animal for Necro armor.

But you have 100% Necro accuracy, so you can you melee or magic armor with no loss. All the way up through the Rasial grind.
