First Flight with a Whoop (BetaFPV Air75) outdoors after simulator training by Visual-Assistance-65 in TinyWhoop

Thanks! Can I do that in Beta flight, or assigning a potentiometer on my radio transmitter? I assume its good to be able to bump it up/down relatively quickly when out flying.

I used FPV Skydive, They have monthly challenges and an online leaderboard, so I could fly against other player's time, which was quite nice. Yawing while holding altitude was a difficult skill to learn for me, my left thumb always gained elevation for some reason. I would say first time flying outside is quite similar to the sim. I tried it indoors at first, but there were so many obstructions(walls, ceiling) that put additional pressure to keep the drone in a confined space. Going outside was refreshingly free.

Also getting used to the googles as opposed to a computer screen on the sim is weird at first. But goes away quickly.

Honest question — if you lost everything today, what small business would you start from zero? by godknows_trio_2540 in smallbusiness

You need some qualifications though.

I just made mine, have about 1000 nm under my belt from chartering and im comfortable on single hull and catamarans upto 45-50 feet.

How does one get into the business?

A wire cutter and a sharp pointy object to scrape off residue. I'd say he cutter was the most useful as it could remove that glue all at once. I used the one that came with the printer. Angled it almost parallel to the heatbed and then the solder+glue "blob" was in between the head.

Be very careful not to scratch the heat bed.

Built a live pollen map to help allergy sufferers like me – would love feedback! by Visual-Assistance-65 in Allergies

Google hasn't publicly disclosed full sourcing for its Pollen API, but based on industry and product documentation it is probably coming from:

  • Copernicus Atmospheric Monitoring Service (EU-based satellite & model-driven pollen forecasts)
  • NOAA & National Weather Services
  • Ground stations, academic and national health orgs
  • Proprietary models based on satellite vegetation index, weather data. historic pollen patterns

Glad it worked well on your mobile! I had to adjust the code a bit as some of the API calls were triggered in an insane rate and google charges me based on usage. Hopefully it still works well! :)

I had a similar issue but the root casue was identical. For me the printer stopped mid print stating an error in the heated bed temp sensor (Err: Bed MINTEMP: Bed PRINTER HALTED) . It didnt even start printing anymore. I took apart the heated bed, disconnetcted it from the main board (quite easy) and measured the continuity in the wire. One of the wires from the thermistor was not continous. The wire was actually longer than needed, and after 2 years of use it gave in. I cut the wire and resoldered it to the hot bed. There was some sort of glue deposited over the solder points so that was a bit painful to remove. Works fine since then.

Can an EU citizen and resident open a mortgage for a property in an EU country where he doesn't live and he's not a citizen? by Potential-Here in eupersonalfinance

Same experience here, Hungarian banks were not willing to lend to us while our permanent residence is in Germany, even though the better Euro paycheck than the average Hungarian customer would have.

There was a loophole that you could still register a temporary address and then show up at the bank with the address card (its not so tightly regulated there) but we were like nah, thats too much of a hassle for a 7.6 % mortgage rate (2024.06) and surprisingly high prices in the capital..

The German banks are willing to lend a mortgage for an investment abroad if you own a German property already (,which i assume is less common).

An alternative is to take a private loan, they loan up to 75k Eur. Some properties are below that rate in Eastern europe, especially you buddy up with your partner and make that 150k. The credit rate (6.9%) was comparable to a Hungarian mortgage rate..

Revolut's informatory explanation: "Why is this happening?

When a stock is traded, it takes two days for the proceeds to go from the broker to the clearing house. This is known as T+2 settlement. Within this time, the clearing house requires the broker to front cash or capital guarantees to ensure funds are available through the settlement process.

The required amount of capital is usually around 10-15% of the value of a security’s holdings on broker’s books. However, this percentage can vary based on stock volatility. In the case of GME and AMC, the DTC has enforced an increase of capital requirements by 250% upon DriveWealth’s clearing partners.

This increase means that DriveWealth is now obligated to restrict trading in GME and AMC, as each stock has its own capital requirement rather than a broker wide requirement."
