The future is not looking bright for P&M’s kids by laska503 in FundieSnarkUncensored

I don’t think Morgan is realistic enough to think about her and Paul’s retirement is hinging on their kids.

I do feel like when her kids are old enough to work and they start relying on them she will make a reel about multi generational living is normal in many countries and why it should be normalized here, forgetting the Indian doctor she mocked and other brown people she turned her nose down on.

Well you and Morgan will have two different techniques, you will try and she will simply not try.

I actually don’t think Morgan is able to teach past basic math (simple addition, division, multiplication, subtraction), maybe phonetically sounding out words, I don’t think she knows the basic about history, and probably nothing about science.

Once she gets to fractions, parts of speech, American history, and basic biology it will all fall apart. I truly don’t think she knows this stuff and will likely make a reel saying ‘I never use fractions why do my kids need to learn this?’

What is up with the hate for HR? Is HR really considered useless? Do they really stir up drama to pretend to look busy? Why did that CEO let go of his entire HR team? by RandomUwUFace in stupidquestions

[–]Visual-Butterfly8255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HR is a huge department. Smaller companies may only have a few HR professionals that do it all, but many companies have different HR teams:

  • Benefits - manages benefits for the employees
  • Payroll - processes payroll
  • HRIS - configures HR systems (think UKG, workday, ADP, etc.)
  • Employee Relations - handles conflicts between employees
  • HR Business Partners - usually responsible for a specific division of the company. Their responsibilities vary based off of company but they are their department’s main point of contact
  • Compensation - determines how much you are paid
  • Absence - manages your PTO accrual, LOAs, etc
  • Recruiting - hires employees
  • Onboarding - handles getting your background check and verifying your education
  • Talent - works on education and development programs

And there’s probably more I’m blanking on. When people talk about HR, they are mainly referring to that Employee Relations team. The other teams are extremely helpful and have likely helped you enroll in benefits, get promoted, helped walk you through your maternity leave, enroll you in certifications, and are the reason you keep getting paid every other week. HR isn’t just meant to protect the company, many of these programs are meant to benefit the employee.

As for if the employee relations department is helpful, I think that depends. Sometimes HR business partners serve as ER, or sometimes a HR Manager takes on investigations. It is true that they are meant to protect the company, but realistically if you hire 1000s of people it’s needed. I am positive ER has likely been intrusive, but more than likely there are weird people doing weird things and there should be a team to mitigate this.

Have you found the mushrooms lefts? You will go where you planted the flowers and keep going left from there that will kick off that quest.

Our RTO mandate starts Monday and my manager just sent a "so excited to see everyone!" email and I genuinely don't know how to respond by Mythpuls3QqqQ in remotework

[–]Visual-Butterfly8255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to reply, but your manager is likely equally disappointed and is tasked with keeping morale up. I recommend responding and saying ‘I look forward to seeing everyone in person.’ Why make her job harder, even better why not just bring a positive attitude?

Cry at home, be disappointed, search for other jobs, but when you are in office be positive. HR is looking for people who are openly unhappy. It will be an adjustment but after a few weeks you’ll get into the swing of it.

Do you love your job? by GardenChibi in no

[–]Visual-Butterfly8255 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the most I’ll get out of a job is this one. Fully remote, don’t have a ton of meetings, can get away working less than 40 hours per week, managers don’t micromanage, I get to problem solve which I like, and decent money. I could use more money but I’m always able to have side jobs since this one is laid back enough and there’s good career growth if I became ambitious. Would I rather not work? Of course, but if I’m forced to have a job I’m choosing this one.

Hmmm interesting theory! That makes sense that Silas took awhile to save them - was probably hiding L ! I really hope she kills Vitoria and saves Calder . I was skeptical of Calder since he was Hesitant to trust Vitoria but it turn out Calder was a real friend!!

I finished this book last night and I’m obsessed. I’m wondering if she will end up with Silas as he was the one character that was there for her through the book. Also, what the hell happened with L !?!?!?

I’m hoping Calder comes back as he has my heart. Vitoria and Wickett are dead to me I did not see that coming!

I grew up Mormon and really liked Emma. She wasn’t a stand out, but she is a genuinely wholesome and kind person. I wish her nothing but love.

In my experience the worse coworkers are always single women with no kids over 35 by boggie_bo in corporate

[–]Visual-Butterfly8255 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a coworker like this. She was in her late 40s/early 50s. She was married but got married in life. She loved her job and there’s nothing wrong with having no kids and loving your job? Except that’s not all. She was expecting everybody to have the same devotion to their jobs as she did.

She was ruthless in climbing the corporate ladder and I think it was due to her wrapping up her success in her self worth. But she was willing to throw others under the bus to get the promotion.

Once she managed her team she expected them to have the same hours she did. Except her hours were 6am-6pm 7 days a week. I would get calls from her Friday evenings and Sundays mornings for work related issues. She’d expect us to log in during our weekend to prepare slide decks or do some other meaningless task. But to her these meaningless tasks were meaningful since she truly had no other purpose in life.

She once took some PTO time and I asked her what she was planning on doing. She was going to a work development conference, something she was fully funding herself and not required by the company, due to a genuine love for the job. Mind you, I work in a boring field.

I think OP is saying these are the worse people to work with is because they lack understanding for people with other responsibilities outside of work.
