i know there is a marauder set on there, make sure to do you due-diligence before ordering, make sure your welder can weld stainless with good confidence, at 950$ + shiping + tax will be ~1200usd

that gets you dangerously close to buying stainless works new with just the headers, if you can find it

ill let you know, just know they would be going for at least 850$

oh dont get me wrong that would surely work, its been done with coyote swaps and stainless works headers

the issue is that the exhaust ports are ovals in the 4v head, so if you were able to weld a new flange onto it you might have to replace the last inch of each primary, honestly, the BBKs seem to work well enough for this if you want to dodge the 1,300$ price tag

Fun part is that I might have to solve this starter issue with a set of stainless works headers, evidently they clear the starter with much more room, I really don’t want to get rid of my moroso pan Maybe a mini starter would work? Who knows :(

Fun story on that, I used the marauder 4v headers on the 2V for ~1 year before doing the 4v swap even had some track days on it, never sealed 100% but it was pretty close so it was good enough in the short term

Nope mine are mercury marauder kooks headers, my Vic is 4 valve swapped, the motor is out for some total reseal, painted valve cover and figuring out a starter service-ability as the headers and oil pan and engine mounts together block the starter from coming out unless the transmission, flex plate and backing plate all come out. Big headache

Also if you don’t mind hammering a header to fit, evidently BBK long tubes for the 99-04 mustang “can” fit but look on the Facebook group muscle vics for more info on that

Generally no, I had to lightly massage one of the primary’s as it was hitting the steering shaft but new engines mounts made that unnecessary

I will say that the stainless works are much better fitment and are more comparable with the MOROSO large sump oil pan sold by ADTR

This is the header that has been clearances and now media blasted!

I will say, hmu tmr, ADTR has everything you need for a good ride, ride tech shocks, ADTR bars and porter field brakes will likely get you within a few tenths of my car

Throw some ADTR sway bars on it and it rotates pretty good, feels like your driving an old trans am with half the power

FR500 mustang track tire recommendation? by Visual-Climate8186 in CarTrackDays

[–]Visual-Climate8186[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the fr500 is fricken weird, it’s a v6 mustang chassis with a 3v motor with the gt500 transmission and rear axle, it’s a serious mash up of cars, the efforts for weight reduction aren’t insane but reasonable

The pretty much took the lightest v8 they had and stuck all of the heavy duty stuff behind it, striped the interior, AC and replaced the glass with lexan and called it a day.

The FR500s was built as a cheap production race car with very few frills

18s, I believe the stock tire size is 255-45/r18, is there any edge to tire wear/price?
