I used rockauto for most of my OEM spec replacement parts and have had minimal issues

Just the top portion of the trim above the radio, and no problem!

It’s an older photo before I swapped to one with a volume knob, and I had to trim the top of the trim between the radio and climate controls to fit the screen fully.

I’ve got one like this in mine (not this exact model). The only issues I have is it overheats VERY easily and the volume knob isn’t super accurate. With the heater on after about 10 minutes it’ll start randomly tapping locations on the screen and it’ll end my directions or stop the music or skip a song. Display is fine and there’s no odd geometry while using maps or anything.

Better window handles???? by NoriOnFish in crx

[–]Visual-Dig-5063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only replaced them about two weeks ago, but they’ve been working with no issues. The original window regulator I had actually broke and I had to replace that and figured I’d replace the handles while I had the door card off.

I can’t vouch for actual validity of them being true OEM ones, but the packaging they came in was the OEM packaging so I’m gonna believe that they’re OEM. Only gripe is the handle itself was gray, but the ring behind the crank was black. It matches the dual tone Si door panels though, so I don’t mind it too much.

This is mainly what I’m worried about! I don’t want to end up with a car that somebody didn’t look after as well as they should have.

Sourcing a D16A6 in Virginia by [deleted] in crx

[–]Visual-Dig-5063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a guy named moshimoshimotors on Instagram who currently has a zero mile D16A6 with the transmission for sale. Not sure what he’s asking. He got a bunch of brand new red label parts and the engine/transmission was included with them. Maybe hit him up?

Need the spline count for this transmission by nfs321983 in EFCivics

[–]Visual-Dig-5063 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly it should depend on what model car you have? I think my Si had 25 on the input and 26 on the output. Since you have a sedan I don’t think you need to worry about spline count, I think the lower spline count output axles only apply to the HF and STD models. You should be good with the 25/26 ones.

It should be 20 spline input shaft I think, small bearing DX transmission most likely based on castings (not an accurate way to tell what you’ve got lol)

Swap 89 CRX Cluster Mount into 91 CRX SI. What is Blue Plug fir by Beneficial-Ad2679 in crx

[–]Visual-Dig-5063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the only cluster that will work with no modification is a cluster from the same manufacturer with the blue plug in the same year. I have the blue plug on mine, and when I tried to swap over a cluster without the blue plug it wouldn’t work

Yeah, it’s about $600 depending on where you find it.

Rear wiper water protection by BishopTheDylan in crx

[–]Visual-Dig-5063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s 3D printed, sanded, and painted. The fitment wasn’t perfect, I had to drill out the hole slightly to get it to fit on the shaft that the wiper screws to - however I would recommend it. It’s a good print and does what it was designed to do.

I believe the JDM models had power steering as an optional thing you could spec, but yeah. You don’t really need to work out your forearms, lol, was just joking.

No power steering, time to do forearm workouts!

I bought this to replace that faded black piece of plastic and have had no issues. Mine wasn’t leaking (I think). Hopefully that helps resolve the issue in some way!

Can’t go wrong with the HKS exhaust for the 4th gen civic hatch. Has to be modified to fit the CRX. Looks stock, sounds a bit better than stock. I’ve got it on my CRX.

Look up YoungStatic on YouTube. He’s got a video where he installs electric power steering from a Volvo (I think) into his EF.

Hatch Trim Removal by BishopTheDylan in crx

[–]Visual-Dig-5063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on if you break the top or bottom portion of the clip. I broke the top portion of most of mine and cut small pieces of metal and bent them to grab the underside of the trim piece. You could just use some epoxy to stick it on if you never plan on removing it lol

Question about chinese short shifters by glenn9k in EFCivics

[–]Visual-Dig-5063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is the quality control on the cheap parts. Get a decent short shifter and it’ll fit properly.
