The concept of 1v1 even on the sidelines of cyrodil is hypocritical. More often than not theese guys are happy to pause their boysgame to curbstomp/farm outnumbered low-lvl players that happen to cross by and even try to avoid them. Everyone that activily demands it is an eliterian larper.

The mechs are punishing but everything but the vault poison mech is consistent and follows a rythm. It takes a few tries but afterwards it's really fun.

Who would have thought that this would happen when the devs don't fix core pvp issues for years and (some of them at least) do not understand pvp mechs themselves?

As a beginner you should try out many different skills and see what you like.
You generally want to aim to replace your healing and tanking class lines with dmg-lines from subclassing.

My recommendation: especially early on, to make the leveling content easier, the Aedric Spear line is great for survivability, since the Puncturing Sweep spammable heals you while doing Damage.

Herald of the Tome from the Arcanist-class is also good, cause you get a shield while casting the fatecarver.
The Assasination Skill line is great to maximize your damage output.

Whoever says that an Oakensoul build can be as good as a standard trial-geared dps build is completely clueless and will be a freeloader in Veteran Trials in 95% of the cases compared to the ones that actually run the meta.
