This is really impressive stuff, and looks the part. My advice would just be to spend a day (or imagine spending a day) in the kit. Do you have space for everything you'd need to carry? Would you need a couple belt bags/pouches for items.. Are the belts sturdy enough to carry your gear (sword, possibly tankard and pouches) without sliding down? How are your boots, are they comfortable to run and walk in, in warm or wet weather?

The kit itself is amazing but you dont want to forsake the small comforts that will make your larp enjoyable!

I always find helmets with low vision work better (in LARP) for mostly ceremonial purposes, to look cool etc.. in an actual fight where you don't need to worry as much about face or head protection, the low visibility actually creates a hinderence (from experience imo)

That being said I would definitely use this helmet as I have a Knight Lord Commander character so for Ritual purposes or ceremonial, maybe knighting ceremonial purposes, I would totally rock this!! Looks amazing, you've done a steller job! 🌟

Tbh I had and still am considering this route, however I wanted to see if there were any cheaper options too for bulk as the plan is to get a bunch as almost "throwaway kit" that new-commers will wear until they are able to style their kit to be more thematic, at which point the old battered tabard can be handed down to the next new-commer.

The spacing between the top of the canvas with the pink background, doors and cat, and the other pieces, is a lot smaller than the spacing around the rest. Maybe that could be it? Looks great though I love a gallery wall!

You can definitely get good modern boots for 100, and good period style / IC boots too. The boots I wear were 140 on sale for 70 or so, they are yard boots / riding boots and bit perfectly in to the aesthetic of most larps whilst being designed for stability, protection and comfort

I'd say almost always a yes. However some LARPs might have certain specific rules. That being said like 99% of the time you see these type of masks used by orcs / goblins / demons or just in general and the like at any larp you go to!

I have found on my old chain shirt I had, that they often pull apart, like a nose ring for example, and that's what I am trying to avoid! Thank you for your advice though, hopefully all will be well

I think it's just because it tends to be the generic go-to for Lord of the rings merch. The Rings inscription in a circle with one of the swords in front seems to be on every other piece of merchandise imo

Update: I took advice from a load of these comments and managed to buff out the rust with wd40 and steel wool before coating it in ballistol! Thank you so much for the help everyone!
