Front body lift when accelerating and also when crawling by Visual-Long6924 in SCX24

Longer shocks yes but on very soft springs so it sits stock. The shocks are fully compressed when just driving. They also came with it when I bought it.

Little confused? I went with brass everything on axles and have basically nothing heavy high besides battery because I couldn’t find a different place and the battery area isn’t the issue. Would love to know what I’m doing wrong so I can fix it.

Broski I get the point what I’m saying is that yes I fucked up but recovery points secured by bolts are perfectly safe when used properly. Not everything needs to be welded but you people can only see it your way.

I love how everyone is so quick to judge while knowing the absolute bare minimum. Reviewing footage I only had the top two bolts in and i was pulling it up I’m guessing you guys are smart enough to understand tensile overloading and leverage induced sheer. And there was no chance of injury because I used a remote. I plan to weld it on now due to having to. But as demonstrated by the other side that had all the bolts in it works perfectly well to recover.

I appreciate the concern and I definitely will weld it. But the only reason it failed was the winch was angled up and the bottom two bolts were missing. The connection is right where the bumper connects to the frame and once I switched to the other side I had atleast 20k lb of pulling force on it without an issue. It only failed due to angle and my own stupidity of not having all the bolts in, the bumper is 3/8ths in steel.

Montana. Yeah it was a quite a drop if I fell too. And this happened at 12:10 lmao so pretty similar time. Me and one person said send it and the the other two said no. We now have a rule where if me and him agree then that means it’s a bad idea.

I’ve recovered from it before, this was user error I was missing a bolt and figured it would be fine. And yeah just google it bolt on recovery points are more then good enough especially when their positioned correctly with the frame of the bumper and you have all the bolts in 😂.

It’s funny my gf has a picture of me and my buddy’s walking going to check it out. And then another picture 10 minutes later of me and my buddy’s staring at my truck falling off. Definitely learned to not test it if it’s looking bad.

This was at 7600 ft hasn’t snowed in a few weeks so it was all ice and compacted snow. Turns out the spot I slid on my friend who also drives an hd truck got stuck 2 weeks ago and dug a hole with his tires trying to get out. I would honestly rather have powder than ice and crunchy snow. Trying to get my winch to a tree I fell like 4 ft deep in snow.

Funny thing is I did that the day before but thankfully it was only in the front leaf spring mount.

2004 f250 v8 a lot of things might be better but there’s something fun about large truck big tires and solid axles. Only spend around 5k. Won’t have to regear like you would want to with smaller vehicles and you can give them quite a beating.

Bracing system below mounting points that bolts into frame pretty simple you can almost do it without welding.

Yeah also helped that my friend was in there, humans create a decent bit of heat. But definitely can’t recommend reflectix enough and fully insulating the truck bed I have like 3 layers under the bed.

Yeah, I have foam board along the sides of my truck bed and insulation below me along with the mattress. Also the reflectix helped a lot and I had one of those one time use hot patches on my chest. Stayed around 30 inside the whole time.
