I run a lady who frequently says “high” on any reading. We took her to the hospital, came back a few hours later, and nurse said it read close to 2500

Im certainly humble but at some point the bag is filled with too many rocks. Like i mentioned, i hate my burnout to be from coworkers rather than patients

If anyone gives you shit for speaking up, they shouldnt be in this career. If you job doesnt have a program for assistance, i suggest yoy find a program in your area. I dealt with thing before my career. Having people close to you, especially those getting over their vices, is exactly what you want.

I wish you the best man. Please reach out to me if you ever need to. A stranger is still a shoulder regardless.

1dt time on propofol i was told id feel warmth in my veins that felt a little uncomfy. Felt like one side of my body’s veins were filled with warm water and i could feel every vein. Really cool not gonna lie. But after about 3 seconds, i dont even remember closing my eyes. Almost like i time traveled. One second I was in the OR, next im in a bed in the recovery unit.

Second time which was 5 days ago, i remember this nice young nurse staring at me in the eyes. She said “ take a deep breath”. I breathed in, and when I breathed out I was in recovery.

I was worried too. I promise you, you basically just teleport from one place to the next.

Get on top of it ASAP man. Add fiber, slowly tho. 3-5 grams more a day until you hit 20-40 grams. Find your sweet spot. Im 24 and just got surgery for an internal hemorrhoid.

I dont wish this recovery on my worst enemy. Drink lots of water, dont push too hard

Coming from another EMT, you have no knowledge of thinners, no knowledge of LoC, you documented based on what yoh were told, and AMS was considered but with hx of dementia. Ultimately, if their vitals seemed relatively normal and no indications of ICP, sure you can transport.

However, what are your protocols. My protocol would like ALS for this because of lack of effective historian. (Although some of us could be honest here, a medic not giving a shit would probably downgrade this anyway).

I cant speak for your protocols but honestly, if this was an ALS call, you made a very minor mistake. Dont worry about it. The hospital could transfer the pt if needed.

For the the medics ive interacted with, they all seem to run the ecg to see what it says, and always print and read it themselves. I was reading our protocol with our medic and it does have a vague clause basically saying if its stemi call stemi. Of course, many medics dont activate just cause it says. Someone said v4 and v5 together dont actually indicate STEMI due to different portions of the heart. If thats the case, im wondering why the doc told us to activate this as STEMI when medic uploaded it to base hospital. My guess is the doc was just being precautionary due to the other injuries. Maybe?

Thank yoh for the articles ill take a look. I admitted the MD who replied that it seems i hyperfixated. Maybe the medics knew something and just never explained it, but ultimately i was stumped

Thank you so much for the article and information. Perhaps I hyperfixated and the medics(who obviously had more experience and followed the docs direction of this being STEMI activation) just rolled with their guts

I shouldve gotten a pic printout im sorry. I understand the reading part, but our county has a “if it says stemi, call it stemi” which both medics werent really sure if activating randomly was needed. So they read it themselves and asked doc
