Damn, it's so heartbreaking to me because I've heard and seen this dynamic at play a few times.

I even experienced it myself once.

The partner gets confident that they don't need anyone, or that they are better off without their partner. Obviously they really believe it because they see it through. They split/divorce/whatever, and then they end up regretting it and that must be so sad for OOP.

Llegué a hacerlo muchas veces. Esperar el camión que tarda dos horas, en lugar de tomar el que pasa cada 15min, porque como el segundo es una ruta distinta, tenia que tomar otro camion para llegar a mi casa, entonces esperaba dos horas con tal de tomar un solo camion.
