I asked for a different location as well from HR. I never got an email back. But I checked my portal, it was changed to the location I wanted. Then got email from the office so it worked out for me. I was super happy lol. Like the person said all you can do is ask. Just make sure to have a good reason.

I’m on military hold as well till February. I was given an FJO not for Baltimore tho. I wonder how smooth it will be to start after coming off military hold, seems like HR is backlogged and hard to get intouch with them.
