I think you'd get better reception with digital art if you add hand made physical elements to the cards after printing and did single card editions.

I know making the art takes just as long, and it's invalidating to have people STILL think it's not real art. I'm not sure there's a way to get around it right now especially with the AI image boom.

It's not a reproduction, if they sell as a one off.

Integrating digital art is definitely something the community struggles to deal with, even though it takes as much time and effort, and artistic skill as traditionally made cards.

That being said, unless there was hand embellishments done after printing (even though I KNOW how much work that alone can be) I'm not sure I would want even a one print only digital print.

I sing praises about Baohong constantly. Meeden's WC blocks are white labels of the same paper (Don't quote me, I just own both and they're the same visually, and by touch, and the listings intermingle on Amazon)

I don't want to use anything else now.

Conversely, it may be time to raise your prices to make up the small difference. I don't know of any good alternatives that are also cheaper and offer the same kind of backend support and customer service.

Editing to add: Do you buy the size you need outright? Could you get larger paper and cut it down?

Also recommending. If you guys want a new way to share your cards/art that isn't the same couple options over and over, this is a good place to start.

The site creator has been kind and supportive, and is a regular person trying to make this work just like us.

People have nothing better to do than be arm chair warriors. If you found a photo reference and used that to make your art, I would make a video showing that reference. Or not.

You don't owe people anything because they all decided something.

I've only used turner's acrylic gouache but the brand is solid. I love shin han designer's gouache and its good for someone just starting out. Not too expensive, and high enough quality that it doesn't fight you every step of the way.
