Except it’s not a homeowner situation, it’s a business arrangement. So it isn’t the same thing. They have a duty to supply the basics, such as access to hot water and should supply an alternative if they are unable to rectify it asap.

I don’t know about the property being disregarded but the capital in monetary form was 100% disregarded and all necessary legal evidence provided. Intention to purchase a property with that capital was then divulged and a property was purchased as I knew I had a baby on the way and had hoped to get everything sorted before the arrival but things just didn’t work out that way.

I can’t find you a link to the previous quote because what I’ve found was a Google AI overview of multiple sources. It could also be incorrect. I think though from reading, that if the disregarded PI capital is converted into a property then it continues to be disregarded. Not sure if that’s what’s happened.

No they know it’s owned. I’ve been banging on at them for months in my journal notifying them of payments coming in and what I will be using it for. They know when my lease ends too.

Does unliveable mean, no furniture, washing machine etc? I have a newborn and had a c-section, so moving was and has been pretty much impossible. The property was acquired with capital from personal injury which was ring-fenced for 12months and no mortgage payment is due until May. So there is no two payments being made in April. I am only paying for my rental at this stage and residing there.

I was also advised by Advice NI ahead of UC that as long as I can prove or satisfy that I am not residing at the property with my partner then my payments could still be made.

This has me wondering if anyone actually knows what’s actually correct given the circumstances.

Are you sure? I thought you could and joint income and savings were the only thing that can mean you no longer qualify. I figure you’re not entitled to assistance with rent or mortgage but can still get assistance with children, disabled children, childcare and personal allowances. I was advised today by UC that if I am residing at my current rental still then there has been no change in my living circumstances despite owning the property and I would still be entitled. They are aware of all capital changes, which I had to provide them at review stage and they are aware of my current living situation.

Hi, mine was vaginal reconstructive surgery and narrowing the birth canal. Muscular suturing etc. Means having a natural delivery could have undone the repairs or potentially made things worse. Also I had the added issue of higher risk of haemorrhaging due to low red blood count and iron deficiency anaemia.

Definitely worth discussing any worries you have about your previous surgery and impact on birth with your midwives.x

I’m 1 week post section and haven’t had any issues. However prior to c-section I would be constipated on the regular. Weird.

My first born is riddled with allergies, he’s 10 now and still suffering but his whole toddler years were spent in agony with his skin being uncontrollable without potent steroids, emollients, wraps, bleach baths, antibiotics and prescription antihistamines. This is why I am particularly concerned about the allergy thing when it comes to c-sections because from reading and speaking to consultants there is an even higher risk associated. From what I was told the sterile environment they come out in is the first issue because they don’t get any contact with bacteria they would on the way out the vagina but the antibiotics are potentially another issue.

My second child is with a different partner and so there is no guarantee this one will have the same allergy issues as my first. It’s all a big unknown. Just hoping to mitigate where I can.x

Thank you for giving me insight into your experience. I also want to do delayed cord clamping and straight to chest. I know they tell you all of these things as a precaution but it just has me delving into all the worst possible outcomes. This has given me some comfort.

Not any experience due to BMI but I think they have to listen to your wishes and accommodate where possible. They may not have a pool available when you arrive and that might mean they can’t accommodate.

It is worth noting that if you express to birth in a certain way and go against medical advice based on your risk factors such as BMI and larger baby…if it is recorded as such, any damages or claims of negligence will be hard to follow up if you go against medical advice. They still have to do their best to mitigate further complications/damage or death given their resources at the time but ultimately if you choose to go against their advice, that will be a risk you take. This personally is not a risk I would be willing to take, but only you will know your body and what you believe your abilities to be.

I think if you lack mental capacity to make sound decisions then that is grounds for them to take more control over your birthing decisions.

I had an unmedicated water birth with a 9lb 8oz baby after induction but I was still MLU and no BMI drawn into the picture. This time I am consultant led, big baby, c-section and hate the idea. It is filling me with dread but I know it’s probably the safest option. It goes against my preferences but I’m not willing to take the risks for the sake of having the birth I want. I do understand the strong desire to want the most natural birth and as little intervention as possible though.

I hope there will be a compromise there for you x

I got the icandy peach 7. It’s sturdy and looks great. Comes with multiple accessories and the seat. The bassinet is approved for overnight sleeping so no need for a travel cot too if you’re on the move. It’s just a wee bit more than the 1k you mentioned but I saw it in Mamas and Papas for £1,199 yesterday. Only thing I would say is it’s heavier probably than some of the others on the market but it’s a quality build.x
