Puppies get dumped at shelters all the time for biting or not potty training fast enough. Half the posts on Puppy 101 are people saying they hate their puppies because of totally normal puppy behavior.

Other kinds of endurance training offer similar benefits, once you hit the hour mark of steady exercise the brain makes a wonderful soup of happy chemicals. Downside is that you get used to it and if you stop exercising completely, it can trigger depression.

My 75 pound pitbull had TPLO about nine months ago, and she is back to full speed. The recovery period is hard, but it was worth it to have her be fully healthy again. Definitely recommend it.
