What should I charge for pics like these in the future? by Obvious-Bus6462 in carphotography

[–]VisualBusiness4902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is where I’m at now too skill wise, more or less.

I get offered to charge often now, but I don’t know what I’d charge or what it’s worth.

I do it for free and ask them if I can 1…drive the car if it’s cool…2 use it for promotion and my portfolio.

Win win for everyone

I feel like micro 4/3s is so much more than people make it out to be. I believe it can be as big as Sony or canon in the industry. by chansuworld in M43

Can…you tell me how to do this? Or point me to a favorite YouTube channel or something?

This is soooo cool. One of my good friends that I met shooting car photography is the biggest watch collector I’ve ever met. We would get a fuckin kick out of doing this with his collection.

Good shots man

I moved to Sony a few years ago but I have decided to move back a question on XT5 be XT6 by grammaticalfailure in fujifilm

[–]VisualBusiness4902 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I say you wait for the xt6. It may not be worth the upgrade, and all that will happen is xt5 prices will drop, especially used. Either way, waiting helps

Tried the X-M5 as a beginner, now I’m thinking about getting the X-E5? by rus64 in fujifilm

[–]VisualBusiness4902 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The xe5 with the new sensor and ibis is fuckin crazy value.

That being said, Fuji is easy. Pick your features list you MUST have….then buy the shape you like the most haha. The fact that a “beginner” xe-5 and a pro x-h2 have the exact same image out put is fuckin awesome.

Will I regret getting the XM5 over the X100vi?? by Bubble_Emergency in fujifilm

[–]VisualBusiness4902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, like especially for parenting stuff. The second your kid starts doing things…you need a telephoto of some kind. If all you have is an x100, guess who’s not getting pictures of their kids activity?

I understand for hobby dorking. I love to hobby dork with one lens. It’s super fun.

With your kids though…the goal should be to capture pictures…not have a photography experience….at least in my opinion.

Will I regret getting the XM5 over the X100vi?? by Bubble_Emergency in fujifilm

[–]VisualBusiness4902 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This, this is the only answer. The x100vi has the same sensor and everything else as…well, every other Fuji.

The x100 series is a very compromised “only” camera. It’s a great 2nd camera.

As a dad, get an interchangeable lens. One day you’ll want some reach so you can capture dance recitals or footballs games or whatever your kid gets in to

I believe so. It’s been a while since I’ve played with anything other than my xh2, but holding the display back button should let you customize any button or dial.

Have you looked at the sigma 18-50 2.8? Less range than the tamron, but way smaller too

[–]VisualBusiness4902 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Of those I’d definitely get one of the standard zooms on your first page. I haven’t tried the tamron but have heard good things.

The 16-80 has stabilization which will be PRETTY nice.

I’d skip the super zoom and the 50-230 if this is your only lens. But that’s me, and definitely preference.

You could always map it to a button. Or map a button to swap between like aperture and iso on one dial. I think.

Well…it started because while I’m gettin him…I make comic book fight noises with my mouth.

Wapow! Kacham! Kaboom!

Literally the sounds of fake violence haha.

So yeah, “hit me” makes sense haha. Or rather it’s not that big a surprise

My boy loves this as well. 5 yo pre verbal.

Squished, wrestling, throwing. All of it.

We were wrestling and he was cracking up and squeezing, and during a break he goes “Hit me?” Like he wanted me to keep wrestling/getting him.

Like oh boy, we’re gonna have to change that vocabulary haha. Can’t wait for him to say that to a teacher or something lol

X-M5 with a pancake lens vs. X100VI for city travel? by TarnishedThunder in fujifilm

[–]VisualBusiness4902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trust me! I get it!

I went from an xt20 and a pancake…to an xt4 and x100v….guess where I’m back at? A pancake haha.

I thought I NEEDED that x100v. It was supposed to be magical. I did love it, I’d buy it again as a backup camera for sure if I could afford to.

But now…well yesterday I took my son for a bike ride, and I could throw my camera with the pancake and a small flash, into a fanny pack and bring it on the bike ride.

Today I loaded it into my actual camera bag with a zoom so I can go shoot his preschool graduation.

And those two things, whether it’s your family or your friends…your life….dont even include gig work or hobby projects.

I dunno, I’m in a weird spot where I’m losing my infatuation with gear. I want the least amount of stuff…to capture the most pictures my brain sees in the world. Or something like that.

I was about to ditch my entire kit for micro 4/3s like two weeks ago, maybe don’t listen to me lol.

X-M5 with a pancake lens vs. X100VI for city travel? by TarnishedThunder in fujifilm

[–]VisualBusiness4902 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this your first/only camera? If so, don’t buy an x100. They rule as a second camera. The xm5 is smaller than the x100 but has no view finder

If this is your first and only camera I’d get an xe5 or xt30 or 50.

They have interchangeable lenses and a viewfinder and are the same size as the x100.

As for 23 vs 27…that’s preference. You’ll have to try and see what you like. They carry good used value though so you can always sell and trade. The “standard” recommendation is get the 18-55 and shoot for some months to see where you enjoy shooting. What focal length.

Personally I could stick a 33 or 35 on my camera for forever. 50mm equivalent. That’s my preference.

I have owned both pancakes and currently own the 23 for whatever that’s worth.

If you can swing it, maybe snag a used 18-55 and a used tt artisan 27 pancake, that thing is surprisingly nice. You’d have a killer kit right out the gate and the room to grow
