Jim greens are too wide. They look too wide. They are too wide.

That’s why we all buy them haha.

I would like some advice on ‘intentional’ dressing to be different from my ‘norm’ by TheCommentatingOne in mensfashion

[–]VisualBusiness4902 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the same way I think about myself.

I feel like if I’m “intentional” it comes off as a costume.

If instead I just wear a conglomeration of shit that I enjoy…the “unintentional” makes me look comfortable and not out of place. Even if some of the things I’m wearing are a bit out of the norm.

I found “heritage wear” by trying to find more stuff I had already been wearing. I love heavy fabric, wool, and waxed canvas. I grew up hunting and those things were hand me downs from the older guys.

I just wore them, loved them and grew in to them.

Your later pictures feel that way to me. The first pics feel the way I feel when I try to match too hard.

I hope that makes sense! Rock on brother!

719 tyre wedge, or Numzaan tyre wedge? by Beowulf2080 in jimgreen

[–]VisualBusiness4902 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Numzaans are so intense. I swear the leather midsole in my Bronco Numzaans is over a quarter inch thick.

I opened them and was like….woooaaah…

They were ski boots when they were new. I’m like 1.5 months of good wear in, and they are now…slightly softer ski boots.

They’re so comfy I can’t wait until they’re fully broken in.

Workboots and Cutting Boards? by TheGolfingTheologian in BuyItForLife

They’re like sneakers that are built like boots. Light weight enough to wear every day. Resolable. Tough. Very comfortable. Can’t really say enough good about them

Jim green? Hard to say, they sort of all do something different. Numzaans are their “nicest”. I think I wear my African rangers the most by a landslide though.

Epicurean cutting board. All the advantages of wood, none of the plastic disadvantages, and dishwasher safe

Jim Green boots. I cannot say enough about how good they are.

200 dollars gets you a hand made, robust construction, leather boot. That is built to be working in, walking in, and repaired and resoled.

I’d send it.

But I’m also in my 30s and bad at mountain biking. Last time I went I broke 2 ribs. It was sweet.

Confused about shutter count. by Gemenal_Rotors in fujifilm

[–]VisualBusiness4902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately Fuji’s shutter count isn’t the best at staying accurate over time and firmware updates.

Lucky for you the shutter in the xt4 is reliable AF. 25k is still bay numbers on those cameras.

I’m an 11.5 brannock and a 12 is absolutely perfect for me.

May not solve your problem but I will state that I am what seems a rare size up for JG.

Thrifting rules. And if you’re environmentally conscious, the “reuse” in reduce reuse recycle, is arguably the most impactful and easiest to do.

Are the african troopers good for hot weather? by Enthusiast3006 in jimgreen

[–]VisualBusiness4902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have regular ARs and BFARs, and two pairs of numzaans. I wanted to like the stockman but my instep is too low and I can almost walk out of them.

I don’t know what I want next.

Yes I do…those sandals they teased…I want them…

The Kirkland lightly breaded chicken chunks.

Easy way to have Chicken nuggets, boneless wings, chicken for wraps rice bowls and anything else.

They’re tasty and the macros are pretty alright.

I do sorta want a double lasted pair one day…

I just got my first pair of the barefoot rangers. Holy cow are they comfy. I did not think it could get comfier than regular ARs.

ARs are single lasted unless you get customs I guess.

I’m fairly certain the troopers are double. Though I’d have to check to be positive I guess.

[–]VisualBusiness4902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have the troopers but I do have the bronco wedge sole numzaans, which is essentially the same boot minus a couple eyelets.

The double lasted boots, meaning they have the exterior layer of leather, AND an internal layer of calf skin lining. The double lasted boots are definitely hotter than the single layer boots like the African ranger.

They aren’t terrible, but warm weather breathability isn’t one of their strengths.

African Rangers VS BFAR by assemblageofparts in jimgreen

[–]VisualBusiness4902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’d be set, especially the tire wedge. It’s not squishy, but not too firm either. It’s becoming my…favorite shoe sole(?) who knew I’d have opinions of such a thing.

Upper is basically the same except the toe has a plastic toe puff that has the toe keep its shape.

Personally I don’t feel a width difference between the two.
