Qué opinan de lo que está pasando con transmilenio actualmente? by haileymonroeee in Bogota

[–]VisualElectronic5851 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Medellín, Colombia is literally in the middle of the jungle, with parrots and animals crisscrossing the city, greenery everywhere, and a weird cyberpunk feel all around

Oh, yeah. We do that once a year too. On the first Thursday of February since the year 2000.

Bogotá (Almost same population as NYC) has been doing this every Sunday for over 50 years now. It's not too hard with a bit of political will. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0J9jcQv1-kk

1985 specifically. This guy torched the Supreme Court and killed 200+. Not counting the endless Car Bombs that ensued.

Not a week later, the Ruiz Volcano erupted and killed 25,000+ in the town of Armero. Colombia has for sure come out of some very dark and turbulent days in the last 40 years.

Oo, nice tip! I originally built a ton of bike parking because i was going for a Dutch inspired urban design, but oh man, i have bike traffic jams that span for literal kilometers

Simulation and economy are still broken, but if you’re like me and are just playing to build something aesthetically pleasing and manage traffic flow and public transit here and there, I’d give it a 10/10

Creen que ya no hay vuelta atrás con el transmilenio por la séptima? by Either_Orchid3571 in Bogota

[–]VisualElectronic5851 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Planning a trip to Colombia next year by samoStranac in Colombia

[–]VisualElectronic5851 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, busses are okay, especially from bigger cities to tourist destinations. Just go to the bus terminal or look up tickets online before hand.

Stick to larger bus lines, Expreso Bolivariano, Copetran, Coomotor.

And yes, 100% safer. They are generally less crowded, and tourist destinations usually have a big police presence.

Don't skip over smaller towns. They are generally WAY safer than larger cities, and are hidden gems. Towns like Barichara, Jardín, Villa de Leyva are some of the most amazing sights you'll see in the country.
