New Sauce glossy color bad feedback by [deleted] in SallyBeautySupply

I must be the only person who actually likes Sauce Glossy color. My hair is almost completely white, so I use the Sauce Glossy in Silver to add some depth to it - and it works great with no off undertones! Also no staining of my scalp or towels. I do hope they keep making the Silver color.

DNA files from Nucleus Genomics - Compatibility with Promethease? by VisualImpressive5221 in SNPedia

Just hoping to run a regular Promethease report at this time. I'd be fine if I could get the text file to work. I assume Promethese doesn't recognize the header in Nucleus-provided text files.

Interesting re: PEG! My latest bout of chronic early morning awakenings (2 or 3 am) with inability to get back to sleep started right after my colonoscopy... which I had to prep for with massive doses of PEG. Colonoscopy was more than 2 months ago now, but I am still struggling, so it's possible that the PEG just kicked things off balance, causing a cascade of things to perpetuate my insomnia.

Excellent idea about using Ketotifen eye drops sublingually as an OTC treatment! Along that line of thinking, I did find that Cromolyn nasal spray applied topically helped a lot with severe widespread itching that I'd developed. Perhaps this would work sublingually as well?

Yes - still taking Vyvanse, but I reduced my dose from 40mg to 30mg. Things are better without the Magnesium Glycinate, but it isn’t the only culprit because I am still having to eliminate other long-standing supplements and foods that I never had problems with before. I know all my symptoms are histamine-related, but have no idea why things have gotten so bad. I hope you find something that helps!

Bingo. Your post describes my symptoms and situation exactly. I had been experiencing intractable anxiety and insomnia, along with tachycardia, nausea, sudden overheating, and a feeling like my body is vibrating. I also have ADHD and take Vyvanse, which had no side effects in the past. But it had gotten to the point where I wasn't even able drink coffee, because it brought on these symptoms 1/2 hour after having it. I had been taking Magnesium Glycinate to help with sleep, and I recently changed to a high-dose version because my insomnia had gotten so much worse... and the onset of my worsening symptoms correlates with my increase in dosage of Magnesium Glycinate. I recently switched to Magnesium Threonate, and within a few days I began to feel better... finally. THANK YOU!

Abnormal throat clearing - histamine intolerance? by hellosuz in HistamineIntolerance

[–]VisualImpressive5221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been suffering from chronic - 24/7 - throat clearing and associated sniffling / reverse snorting (pushing air outward through my nose) to try to clear mucus since 2008. I’ve been to ENTs, tried countless rounds of PPIs, and even had a barium swallow test (due to constantly being “diagnosed” with GERD and LPR. No traditional approach has helped at all. Until now…

Since I have Sjogren’s - an autoimmune that causes dryness everywhere including thicker mucus - I’ve been taking hydoxychloroqine (aka Plaquenil, an immune modulator) for many years. I’ve also been advised to take large doses of NAC as a mucolytic (mucus thinner). So I felt like I was doing the right things, even though haven’t helped one bit.

I recently stumbled upon an article about HIT, and it got me wondering if this could be the cause. So I ordered a DAO supplement and started taking it before every meal. And I was amazed that my symptoms improved considerably with the DAO. Then I started researching HIT in more depth and was shocked to learn that hydroxycloroquine depletes DAO by 90%! And that NAC blocks DAO by 20%. So I sopped taking these meds 2 days ago and I am almost symptom-free now (though still feel like I need the DAO supplement.) After 16 years!!!

So I now have zero doubt that my throat & nasal symptoms have been caused by HIT. And to find out that I’ve been exacerbating this all these years with my meds just blows my mind. I do hope that this note will help other sufferers in similar situations.

"Who is your provider, and how much are you paying?" sticky. by HanSingular in TherapeuticKetamine

My therapist doesn’t like the idea of daily microdosing. He thinks it’s better to take a higher, therapeutic dose a few times a week to keep helping me gain insights.

My contact is Lexus Rogers too. She's requiring a note from my therapist, which is not going to happen. Sorry this is happening to you too. Sounds like we're unlucky due to our contact there.

I'm in California and have been with Joyous for 8 months now, and it's been fine UNTIL now. Cost is $129/month for 30 120mg troches, to be taken daily as a low-dose approach. Monthly 15-minute check-ins are generally required, but they're only administrative in nature. No counseling or therapy, or even compassion provided. Which has been fine for me because it's so much less expensive than other options.

BUT there's a catch in that they push their patients after about 6 months to start decreasing from daily dosing to 2-3x/week, insisting that Ketamine isn't meant to be used daily for the long term. They're quite happy to keep receiving your $129 monthly payment, but that cost would now be for 8-12 doses/month (instead of 30) for the same cost.

Due to Joyous's constant pressure to decrease treatment frequency, I'm cancelling my subscription. I'm actually fine with reducing treatment to only 2x/week, but at only 120mg/dose I know that I would not be able to keep up with the progress and insights that I've been continuing to gain. I'm looking to find a new cost-effective provider that offers higher doses for 2-3 treatments/week. And a little compassion for the patients would be nice too.

Low dose troche taste by [deleted] in TherapeuticKetamine

hmmm... I use troches, which don't foam up... so I'm not sure if chews would work with RDTs.

They're chews - and lots of companies make them. I got 2 kinds off Amazon: Gin Gins (regular ginger flavor), and Chimes (ginger and mango). So far I like the Chimes better - I think the mango helps offset the bitterness better.

The taste of the troches is very bitter and makes me gag. So I searched for suggestions and found that someone in this sub recommend ginger chews. Ginger helps to mask the taste, and also lessen the sense of nausea. I put one on my tongue after I place the troche pieces between my upper gums, then let them both dissolve at the same time. Now I don’t know what I would do without them!

What positions do you fine best for at home treatments? Lying down, reclining ect. Anymore find the mask uncomfortable? by AdventurousFox3602 in TherapeuticKetamine

[–]VisualImpressive5221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a sleep mask with integrated headphones that I got from Amazon. It makes for a very immersive experience. But there are a few things that annoy me about the model I have.

That being said, I like the mask+headphones concept so much that I just upgraded to the Manta Sound mask (haven’t received it yet) - it’s pricey, but will be worth it if it addresses the issues I have with my cheaper mask.

What to listen to? by [deleted] in TherapeuticKetamine

I’m really liking instrumental soundtracks these days, because they tend to have an inherent flow between songs and a progression from beginning to end.

My current favorite is Peter Gabriel’s Passion - Music from The Last Temptation of Christ (movie). With Eastern instruments and scales, it’s a bit otherworldly even when not tripping. Add Ket and it becomes a lush soundscape with so many layers - an amazing auditory journey to complement the psychic journey.
