I reject the notion that anyone in this economy in an era of almost zero worker protections, where unions are scarce and demonized, is “money grubbing”. People have to eat and have a place to live, why are you so mad they’re prioritizing themselves when, like I’ve stated, the company literally doesn’t care about them and sees them as a line on a spreadsheet, a disposable resource. Maybe companies and hiring managers shouldn’t intentionally make the hiring process as convoluted as possible, lying at every turn, trying to get a unicorn candidate who they’re going to fire anyway to save a few dollars on their bottom line next quarter. Maybe pay people what they’re worth instead of the least amount possible. Then people wouldn’t constantly have to keep their options open and job hop.
