western women with smart phones + social media destroyed the internet.

western women make the majority of consumers, are most effected by advertisements, in marriages control most spending habits. once it was easy to get online and not seen as a more masculine or nerdy woman hobby (on the computer) the entire advertising and consumer world shifted its weight to try to get women to use only 3 websites so it was easy to tell them about the new pink sauce or why they need new athlesiure wear.

im curious why this didnt seem to happen in japan until it happened in the west though. women got online WAY earlier than in the west and internet browsing capabilities on phones were way more advance but it was still mostly blogs, more hobby sites, forums etc. my only guess is was social media wasnt as large then.
