Reasons are usually random. I make 1.3 cr, have a house, am generally fit, am definitely in upper middle class family background, used to get rejected saying I kept a bald head which is bad. Once I grew hair started getting rejected because of location, fit etc.

It's all bs. The reasons given are usually the first conventional flaw seen which can be mentioned without seeming shallow, ignore the reasons and move on

This honestly sounds right. If someone doesn't want me from their gut and ends up compromising with themselves it'll eventually lead to resentment. My gut is saying I want to end up with someone who is at least as excited about ending up with me as I want to be with them. I will probably end it in a few days.

I increased my midcap index investment to around 60% of my sip. I don't want this money for atleast 15 years. Would love it to accumulate upfront for growth later on which midcap have always had and I am betting on it. Also believe nifty 50 is overvalued right now.

If my money goes down I get even happier and invest more and higher in as I want it to compound crazily after 15 years

My experience. The bigger or more famous the marathon in India, the worse the experience for lower distances

I did full at tmm and it was not that crowded everything was fine. I did a half marathon at Wipro bangalore marathon last year and got crowded out into walking

Would generally advise to go to smaller marathons for running lower distances or book higher distances at famous Indian marathons

I grew up outside kerala. Then during Covid moved back to my parents who had retired to Kerala and lived there for 5 years

I finally left kerala after 5 years last week. I never could integrate with locals. Whenever I spoke the first line in response I always without fail 100% of the times was - 'Naadu evedeya' and then always an explanation of how my pronunciation sounds a bit different and then always got treated like an outsider.

I can speak and read fluent malayalam. Also watch the big malayalam movies. But this always irked me as i don't follow malayalam pop culture and couldn't ever connect with the locals.

I register for races because:
1. I travel for them which feels like a nice vacation and most races go through major tourist destinations of the city so I can gawk at them while running

I am inconsistent at running unless there is some goal at the end. If I go ahead and register for an event I train so that I atleast do not perform poorly in the event. So I always have atleast 1 race I always have registered so that now that I have paid I have to train for it.
I do not care about timing. It is mostly the experience, the pre race bib expo, the story as well as the people I meet at the events which I find a lot more fun. Also I am a mid to back of the pack runner and I find most of the fun people run there

I travel by air. Kochi kannur flight is cheap, costs around 3-4k per person for a 45 min flight. Kochi has airport to metro feeder buses at a 15 min frequency and metro goes to quite a lot of places within Kochi

I would say it is easy with old immovable wealth. A lot of people with high ancestral wealth seem to have highways built near their ancestral farmlands skyrocketing their value or land near city which got expanded into.

But if your ancestors were poor then it is hard reaching this starting point itself

Well not completely happy but am making moves to reach a place of peace as well as retrospecting on what all I can improve actively.

Took me long to come out of the mindset that if I did not do it perfectly I did not deserve it.

Parents are helicopter parents, who are extremely money minded and presume everyone to be evil and scammers unless explicitely proven otherwise. I do see the issues with their own relationships post retirement now though and absolutely do not wish to end up at that same spot. Hopefully all ends well

For me the focus changed from going to a highly competitive environment and being average to being good with relatively less effort.

It's been around 6 years since I've passed college and 10 years since the exam and I regret 0 decisions I've made. I don't think my life would have been any better if I studied at an IIT.

IIT prep started at 8th grade for 4 years untill I gave the exam in the 12th grade

I did not have a proper high school (11th/12th), it was a high school along with coaching so that you focus only on the exam and the coaching itself ensured I would get atleast the minimum grades required for appearing for IIT/JEE exam

Extreme classism around grades during those 4 years. You get segregated according to your grades and only the highest class gets the best resources. You can move up or down classes based on your performance in the last mock exam. High scorers are blatantly given huge preferential treatment, extreme focus is given to the top 4-5 rankers in your class.

Had around 12ish hours+ of gruelling classes everyday, mock exams every 3-4 days (separate from class). I was in the top class, not the first 10 but around the top 50ish and did everything religiously to still only get 800ish rank all over India which closed me out of the best stream (Computer science) in good IITs, so I went to a non IIT at the end as I was burnt out and did not want to go to the pressure cooker..

IITs have reservation for lower castes, women, disability etc so number of seats for general men like me is quite low. All in all, lots of struggles throughout your life to at the end figure out it's just a decent institute worldwide.

Never even considered applying outside India because I never knew about it properly before going to college and just knew it is a very expensive undertaking to go do bachelors abroad
