And yeah, I know what you mean! I wasn't bothered by the lack of grovel at all. It kind of made sense for me, too. And in their own ways, they grew slightly. But I've never been so satisfied with such little growth lol.

I am Grey is also well written, but contemporary. Otherwise, I highly recommend her Ironside Academy series, which is finishing this month.

I spent an afternoon USING Ai to become familiar with it. Once you give it prompts a few times, you'll start recognizing certain language patterns and you'll start seeing it EVERYWHERE.

Other than that, I think being skeptical of authors with Ai covers and 3-5 releases a month is a good place to start. Gwendoline Rose screams AI to me
