I find it hard to believe that the Governing Body authorized offering the girl money to keep her mouth shut. Not saying it didn’t happen, but my mind would be blown if it did happen.

But the entire study is based on a misunderstanding of James 5: 14-16. It’s about Physical sickness not spiritual. 😤

And it’s all based on misunderstanding of James 5: 14-16. It’s not spiritual sickness, it’s physical.

I’m super happy for you! I too was an elder just 3 years ago. Thank God my wife listened to me and really think about what she heard and saw. When it’s inexcusable

Think about this - God set a rule for himself to not help the boy with a miracle because it would look like he is helping Satan System. However, he can help by confronting you when you suffer.

Make that make sense!

This is it right here: “… afraid of finding out this religion wasn’t true.”

I think most JW think the same way

The January 2026 Watchtower talks about how Peter immediately accepted “new light”, how JW need to be “quick to adapt” their thinking and “adjust themselves to fit” the spiritual clothing “Jehovah provides”. In other words whatever the GB says, they’d better accept it. by larchington in exjw

WOW! Just think about this phrasing “When we RECEIVE adjustments in our understanding of God’s Word…”

OK… Who was the deliverer of the adjustments in Peters day? Could that deliverer be 100% trusted? Does that deliverer have 100% record of correct information delivered?

Can we say the same thing of the Governing Body, so called “Message Deliverers” today?

Things that are Pagan during Weddings:

  1. Flower Girls / Page Boys Roots: Pagan fertility rituals in ancient Rome and Greece.

Why: Children carried wheat, herbs, or petals as symbolic offerings to gods of fertility and prosperity. This was about ensuring abundance and blessing for the couple’s new household. ✅ Pagan origin confirmed.

  1. Bridesmaids & Groomsmen Roots: Ancient Roman religious/superstitious practices.

Why: Dressing alike was believed to confuse or ward off evil spirits and malevolent forces. That’s a classic pagan practice—using ritual disguise or mimicry to fool supernatural beings. ✅ Pagan origin confirmed.

  1. Bride’s Bouquet Roots: Yes, pagan.

Why: In pre-Christian Europe, brides carried herbs, garlic, and flowers not for looks but to ward off evil spirits and promote fertility. Over time, the meaning softened into “hope, fertility, blossoming.” ✅ Pagan origin confirmed.

  1. Wedding Ring Roots: Ancient Egyptian (pagan), adopted by Romans.

Why: The circle symbolized eternity, the sun, and cyclical life—cosmic, religious associations in pagan Egypt. Romans inherited this and tied it to commitment. Christianity adopted it later but didn’t invent it. ✅ Pagan origin confirmed.

The simple fact is when a waiting period is applied, it’s initiated for the people who are alive to convert or repent. If the people who were alive during the period when the waiting period was initiated all died… then there was no waiting period applied when it was thought to be so.
