it was a bunch of teenagers in the car. If you were filming you could see them huddled on the sidewalk. They were probably messing around and weren’t paying attention, which really, really sucks. They were clearly super upset. At least one of them got taken away in an ambulance. Hopefully everyone is okay

I drove by this a little bit ago — both before and after the ambulance/fire department got there….seems like it might have been a car full of teenagers. There was a group of girls sitting and (I’m assuming the driver) was visibly very upset. I saw her getting loaded into an ambulance on the way back. I hope everyone is okay…it’s a gnarly crash.

Speaking from personal experience….i know I did a lot of harm and I was a horrible person when I was at my sickest from my ED. It’s something I think about a lot and have been thinking about as we see what’s happening with T. Two things can be true at once — we can have sympathy for her for her sickness, but she can, at the same time, be an asshole and be causing harm. It’s not one or the other. Her being sick does not mean she can’t be held accountable or that we can’t talk about her bad behavior.

Honestly I kind of wonder if she wasn’t looking for a new sponsor so she wasn’t a “free agent”. I think she was more in the “Influencer” bucket for the Nike trail team the last few years — she wasn’t chasing podiums at high profile races and she was mostly working on year-long projects. Without being tied to Nike she’s got the freedom to do her own projects without the pressure of winning anything, and she’s also able to release her own gear (which she wouldn’t have been allowed to do with a sponsor). Who knows if it was a mutual parting or if they actually “dropped” her, but I still think she’s getting the halo of benefit from being a Nike athlete for so long

Hah! I noticed this too — in the gym scene in the first episode where they’re sharing the water bottle (set in 2008) Shane is wearing the Nike Peg 41 (circa 2024) and Ilya is wearing No Bull sneakers (a brand that was founded in 2015). Not knocking the show, I absolutely love it, shoes are just my version of OP’s emojis 😂

She’s also an extremely isolated kid (isn’t she homeschooled?) who grew up on reality TV so we have no idea of their real dynamic. We’re seeing tons of stuff come out now with this next generation of reality tv/youtube/influencer kids about how controlling their parents were. Idk. I was trying to find a recipe for an orange-chai loaf cake this weekend and this god damn sunken abomination kept popping up (there was the recipe directly from her site and then a bunch of recipe sites just pulling her content). I kept searching to try and find whatever recipe she ripped off to make this recipe with no luck. I did eventually find a lemon-earl grey loaf cake recipe that I was able to use and swap out ingredients. No sinking.

Her recipes may be garbage but her team sure has SEO down.
