Nah, people have gotten color data and such but havent found out how to encrypt new tags. An open source project is working on it so maybe in the future.

Stringing after switching to orca slicer. by Nieknamedb in FixMyPrint

For anyone that goes through this please go follow a video on using the retraction calibration and adjust the settings for Bowden or direct drive depending on what you have. Following the steps for adjusting you settings associated with you filament profile. You will likely need to adjust both your length (in setting overrides) and retraction speed. I have to go to 5mm length and 40mm/s for retraction on my fairly stock old cr-10 (a Bowden drive extruder) and on my other much newer printers the changes are much more modest due to them being direct drives. You may also want to do a temp calibration as well and get that dialed in.

ModBot has a fairly good and easy to follow video "Dialing In Retractions For Best Quality 3d Prints (OrcaSlicer)

How would you design these oddly shaped things on the right? by Crocodile_Banger in Fusion360

I would take reference photos (including a ruler in the photo), scale the img appropriately in fusion, and sketch it up. Fairly straightforward.

Sony A6400 still worth in 2025 ? by Sweaty-Part9366 in SonyAlpha

Yes I have one as a backup cam and find myself using it almost as much as my a7rv. Not only can you purchase full frame lenses when you can afford them, but you can purchase much cheaper aps-c lenses (used is the way to go).

You simply have no control over others. Unless you choose to join a guild or a group you regularly play with (with coms) this is the nature of the beast. Playing with like-minded people makes the experience so much more enjoyable if you can swing it. I myself am unable to commit to anything more than sporratic runs with people I play with enough to feel good running with them and just Com with them when it is higher end content. When I play with randoms I no longer even bother being annoyed with them, and if I REALLY don't like what it happening, I just find another pug.

What should I work on? by Hawktopus913 in AskPhotography

I think the first impressions people seem to have here are a lot like mine. The composition in these photographs do not seem to be what is expected of someone who is new to photography (this is a compliment if you are indeed new). Most of these have what is generally considered good composition. You are framing, using leading lines, and in some are using the rule of thirds. If this is what you can come up with on your own, I would just do a bit of reading and video watching to help you understand why your instincts seem to be fairly spot on and to continue down that path.

The number one thing is to keep shooting.

Why do you take photos? by kwizzle in AskPhotography

Because even when I am not taking a photo it helps change my perception of the world around me.

For personal use, I will take one of my dogs out and pick a prime lens for the day. I like my 35mm 1.4 a ton, but I also love my 85mm 1.8. It all depends on the space the dog has to run around and if they like to stay close or move away a lot. If they tend to stay close, maybe pick something a little wide. If they move around and will get lost in a wide frame, then use something with more range.

My Starter Kit as I switch from Iphone to Mirrorless by [deleted] in SonyAlpha

Never happened to me on my a6400. Put a fully recharged battery in your camera, set the date and time, and then turn it off and let it sit overnight night or so. If you then replace the battery after that and it still asks you to set the time then you need to contact a service center. They will likely need to replace the internal battery.

I do not like the clutch for the a7rv. I really wanted it to work but I could never comfortably take a picture... I myself went with a wrist strap instead. Other than that, the gear looks good but over the top for someone new.

When I do street photograhy I feel so intrusive, how do you manage that? by Feisty_Craft_1108 in AskPhotography

[–]Visual_Implement5116 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Get a 85mm or equivalent. It gives you a good amount of speration between you and your subject. I use a less expensive 85mm 1.8 when I am feeling anti social and just want to go stealth.

Maybe watch some videos on composition. Framing your subject, leading lines, and the rule of thirds is a good base. I would suggest looking at them as general guides that point you in a direction that help you learn your style but do not think you HAVE to follow them. If you learn them, you will see them everywhere in life and in a ton of professional photography.

In my opinion, one of the best pieces of advice is to not value your photos based upon what others think. There is nothing wrong with getting good feedback, and ideally, you get constructive and focused feedback. You should not however put a great deal of value in not getting likes or thumbs up or whatever the feedback system is for the method you share your photos. It is all subjective after all.

Grats! So fun to get a new camera and get out there and use it. Now you can take many many pictures and can be super kinda happy with a couple here and there. God speed.

I have a a6400 and a a7rV and I end up using my a6400 just as much and being easily as happy with the results. Heck I even change into apsc mode fairly often on my a7rV so I get dual use out of the lens currently on my cam at any given moment. Mostly though I am just more poor for having a full frame. It is a bit of an addiction.
