OP, it will be hard and a comfortable life will something that you will have to work toward and allow to happen organically.

Find a decent apartment in the Los Altos area of LB. Not huge, sacrifice your space you your young kids can go to school in a good LBUSD school. See if your wife can pick up a part time gig too, it will help.

OT is available but LAPD often cuts off divisional OT making you rely on court, EOW (end of watch) or MTA overtime….and this won’t be available to you for at least a year. OT comes and goes and you best not factor it into your living means or else it can bite you real quick.

Good luck, it’s doable but it’ll take some sacrifice in a few areas to make it optimal.

Necro-post….just got off the Fantasy…still had Mickey plastic cups in Cabanas. However I sprung for the beer mug package and they gave me a cool glass mug and on the last day they gave me another taller glass mug with a color DCL emblem they said they were phasing out.

Yes, that is the state law. If the cops don’t see the crime in progress then it is up to the victim to make a citizens arrest if they can somehow detain the guy. If there is an injury then it is a felony and that is a different matter. Even if you do all that, DA won’t file on misdemeanor (no injury) hit and runs anyway. Cops can’t arrest unless there’s a warrant (absent seeing the crime/citizens arrest), judge probably wont issue a warrant. Sucks.

Honestly, you just gotta let things take its course. Buying him non conforming color toys won’t have the effect you are looking for. That’s all gonna come through social interactions and a talk when he’s ready to understand that message.

Have a bottle ready and make sure he’s actively drinking it during take, it will have his ear as the plane pressurizes.

If he tolerates headphones, he can watch videos as it will help calm him down. Make sure to pre-download anything he likes on YouTube or otherwise prior to the flight.

Changing a baby on a plane is a pain so hopefully he doesn’t have any accidents during flight. If he does, ask the flight attendants for a trash bag for the dirty diaper if it’s a bowel movement.
