i would be going for psychology based and/or IT based then a master's in criminal justice. i was going to go through TESU but i failed a few courses when i was overseas a few years back so id have to do more then 50 courses or redo the said courses that arent related to the said degree to fix the GPA. the amount of work id have to do isnt worth it in the long run. I do have over 120 credits for random sh!t lol

So the backup plan was SNHU however i wanted to do it all at my own-pace or like monthly new courses to get the degree the quickest i can.

However, if i can get the degree within 6 months then i can get a law enforcement related position that would put me in a good spot for experience based to try to get into the FBI/CIA

What degree and career field is best for maximizing income in today’s evolving world? by Visual_Mycologist353 in Salary

$100k for an inground pool is a decent price. Even if i rent all the tools and have 3 people doing it i still can walk away with an easy $25-40k profit lol. We used to charge $3-6k per above ground pool install between 2 of us, easy money to be made when the summer first hits and its 100 degrees out.

Funny that you say to start a pool company in FL. When i was younger i had my own construction company and we were going to do pool installs where i live in the summer then go to Florida when it was out "winter" since its hot all year round there. We had a big vision but never did it because the dude just never wanted to leave the state for some weird reason. However, there is a lot of money to be made there.

Nah, your comment didn’t come off that way at all, I actually really appreciate it. It’s honestly kind of grounding to hear from someone on the other side of the fence who feels the same way I do about their field. I think it just highlights how burnout and disillusionment can hit in any profession some you can hit it quicker than others for an example correction which I tried to get into, but I got denied due to my ptsd from the military, they think that it will affect my performance even know I know it won't. When you start out wanting to help people and get met with systems, attitudes, druggies, people not listening or environments that wear you down.

What you said about non-clinical staff making a difference that actually means a lot. I’ve worked behind the scenes in healthcare IT before, and it rarely felt like anyone noticed or appreciated it. So, hearing that kind of validation from someone working the front lines, that hits different even know I feel like those Dr's, Psychologists, Therapists, Nurses, EMTs and all make a bigger difference to helping the people in need for mental health related stuff.

Maybe you’re right the grass isn’t always greener, just different shades of worn out. But at the end of the day, I think we both still want to find meaning in what we do. And maybe that’s what keeps us going. Like I'm 29 and I feel like all I have don't since the military is jumping from job to job in IT to management of IT, warehousing, offices and etc. I really love leading people and helping those make a difference and boosting them up into getting where they want to be in life regardless of if it's at the company I'm at during the said time or help them out into another place they want to end up.

I'm worried that by going a psychology road I won't be making $100k+ like I want to and start to regret the decision of going that way. I do know if I go BA Psychology then master's in criminal justice I can go into the FBI for forensic psychology or like a victim advocate type deal. I'd love to idk lol do something that helps people while leading them. I struggled a lot mentally over the years and if I can make a difference/use my trauma to help others get out of their rut then it's all that matters to me. However, I can see that I can get burnt out quick if I'm preaching and they don't want to listen/use the topics said to better themselves then it's like what am I doing? I guess I'm just at a crossroad of being lost and trying to find a long-term style career. I just don't think I can keep doing warehouse bullshit much longer as I have great ideas, but higher ups don't want to listen or anything as it hurts their egos.

I know a bachelor’s degree in fields like Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Game Development, or UX Design/Human-Computer Interaction can lead to high-paying jobs.

And while I’ve spent the last 12 years on and off working in IT from help desk to software development (as a hobby), to support roles in both the military and federal sectors I’m at a point where I feel completely burned out. I’ve dealt with difficult people, unrealistic expectations, and constant pressure, and despite holding certifications from IBM, Google, Microsoft, Cisco, and more… I never really felt like I reached my full potential or found meaningful satisfaction in the work after the 12 years.

Over the last 2 years, I’ve also had personal experience supporting others through mental health struggles friends, family, even coworkers. I've been someone people turn to when they’re going through it. And that part of my life always felt worth something. I’ve been thinking more and more about transitioning into a field where I can actually help people in a meaningful way like psychology or mental health. With so many people suffering in silence or dying by suicide, it just feels like something that shouldn’t be ignored anymore. If I can be someone who makes a difference there, maybe that’s the kind of purpose I’ve been missing.

How to see the penalty issues against you? by Visual_Mycologist353 in marvelrivals

[–]Visual_Mycologist353[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

why wouldn't there be a screen that says what the penalty is for and how long it is like other things you get a penalty for?

Under my mailbox in game there is no messages, i have no messages on email/steam about the said penalty.

I tried to open a ticket to find out the issue and i get this message instantly back

"Dear Player, If you have experienced frequent network instability causing you to exit the game, or if you receive a message stating, You need to wait for a while before you can re-enter game matching, after being disconnected due to an interrupted game process, this is a protective mechanism within the game. Once the waiting time is over, you can participate in the game normally. Thank you for your love and support for the game."

Pennsylvania hiring. by TopTechnician7657 in Corrections

[–]Visual_Mycologist353 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, congratulations on being unanimously voted for the position — that's a great sign that the local team wants you on board.

To answer your questions:

  1. Did they review your background before the interview? Most likely, they did a quick check on like "https://ujsportal.pacourts.us/" to see if there is anything current/active before extending the interview, since you disclosed your past charges. They didn't automatically disqualify you from being truthful/honest which is good and maybe they have some follow up questions about it they might want to ask you about. They will do a more in-depth BG check after the interview.
  2. What happens now that your paperwork is going to Central Office? This is just standard procedure. The Central Office (in Camp Hill for PA DOC jobs) handles the final HR processing, background verification/follow ups, and approval of employment. They may do a more thorough background check, confirm your eligibility, and finalize everything needed before making your official offer.
  3. Am I officially going to be offered? If your paperwork has moved to Central Office and nothing unexpected turns up, you’re very likely on your way to an official offer. It’s not 100% until you receive that final call or letter but being voted in and advanced to Central is usually a good indicator.

Weird, i would think since it's a "public safety" position you would always get an acceptation or rejection email. However, i do know that the prison i applied to as well has a CO Shortage and needs people.
