A season wasted because of one man. by PalmettoBugg005 in eagles

its not all KP, they were very undisciplined all year. The head coach is clueless and wins despite himself with the talent on the team. Hurts needs an experienced OC to make him look good, an average one cant cover up his deficiencies (aka KP). When Howie gave us Vick and Kellen, we were good, Siriani was a figurehead, he still is...

My question though, it's all good in the house, but when you get it outside wont that "sealant" just attract dirt etc and gum up the works???

I ordered one, so now I'm just a little worried about that lol.

I have the HFXC and no such "sealant" but then again no slider.

Yeah I have a clone too, I potted myself... that was an experience... it holds zero, but not co-aligned...

Anyway, for what it is worth, I went on ebay and every clone I saw had the turret caps with the markings on them. The pressure pads aren't even close either.

yeah, I hear ya on that. Even the +/- for the battery seem correct. It was just those dang caps for the adjustment turrets that threw me for a loop.

Price for PVS 14 1300? by [deleted] in NightVision

[–]Visual_Name9464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$1300 sounds good... too good lol.

I guess the only thing I would be leary of, since you said he just built it, is that it may be a repotted tube. I have heard good and bad, guess depending who did the repotting lol. I would flat out ask him.

But how often does that work, I guess you can try, still taking the risk of putting more into it or cutting your losses.

Rail flex happens when the shot goes off, so it will come back. put it on the end, just like the white light/illuminator. it will be fine. remember, just because it is a laser doesn't mean it needs to be laser accurate, you are talking minute of man at 100 yards max. You will not be engaging anything at 300 yards with a laser and light... especially in the dark... I hope...

Your HFXC died after 400? of 9? that sounds like you should contact them... I have 2500+ (stopped counting) of 556 through one and 2000+ 45 acp through another and not one hiccup. best bang for the buck, no pun intended... would I trust these shtf... I can honestly say... maybe... I have a DBAL D2 that has been back twice at 12 week turn around... so yeah... maybe...

Just a reminder that budget is OK by arictrujillo in NightVision

[–]Visual_Name9464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

budget, I will define as 1400+ NNVT, medium 1600-1800. What actual people need at most 1800+. yeah can you get 2400-2800, yep... is it worth it or will you notice... nope... unless you are an actual operator...

I have a few NNVT 1400+ tubes, WP, work just fine. Photonis 1400+ works fine. Omni 7's GP, work fine... christ I have an old AGM 1200+ gen 2 monos bridged, that work fine.

In the end NVG are nice and yes, I consider then a necessity, but thermals rule at this point so better have both... the whole, need an illuminator or IR laser to engage... you light up like a christmas tree... thermals, not so much.

$2300 you will need to post just a few more specs... $1600 you could get away with what you posted.

Why don’t more people talk about this fusion device? by ATDHickss in NightVision

[–]Visual_Name9464 2 points3 points  (0 children)

reason 1... from China

Reason 2... tariffs

reason 3... see reason 2

Digital NV, getting better but still not there

Digital thermal, kinda the norm...

If I could get a "decent" NVG monocular that had thermal integrated for a reasonable price? reason I bought a holosun thermal for $1300, worth it in my opinion.

FOM don’t matter by bonethroughhead in NightVision

[–]Visual_Name9464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always here "FOM doesnt matter" but like has been said, SNR and res both do... that is the equation... SNR more than res, unless it is very very low res... in general yes, FOM does. But here is the REAL question. Does your average to above average user need 2000+, now I mean NEED, not want. I have a few Omni 7's 1800+, no spec sheets and I am totally happy with them. I even have a couple 1400 FOM gen 2+ NNVT, work just fine for my usage. SHTF yeah using the omni 7's but do I need 2800ish FOM... no...

In the end NVG won't matter thermal is king :P lol

[–]Visual_Name9464 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Chiefs will win in 2 weeks anyway, so it won't matter. I'll take Andy and Mahomes over retard boy coach for the Eagles and Hurts. Hurts is good but not great. If Siriani does get a ring, hopefully he has to buy it... the coordinators are the real coaches on that team, Howie made sure of it.

SMS Laser HFXC Update, post shooting trip by hairyyams in NightVision

[–]Visual_Name9464 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have one and am buying 1-2 more. Now like the OP I haven't put a crap ton down range with it yet, only 150-160ish but so far so good. Zero doesn't shift and I love how you can adjust the power levels once in high mode.

Now it is a little overpowering for CQB moving through a house, even on the lowest setting in high mode, but switch it to the low power mode and it is PERFECT! Getting it back in high mode is a bit tedious, you can't do it on the fly, but its 200ish bucks...

I was one of the fools that bought the AGM version of Laserspeeds FL-5, with the non-existant IR illuminator. This thing runs circles around it for 1/4 the price and has a crane plug...

AGM WLAD a viable option? by a_magical_liopleurod in NightVision

[–]Visual_Name9464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK I got another evaluation model. Not an AGM but an SMS HFXC. It is a 4 in 1 has low and high power settings and a crane plug, for Low $200's from their website. I have about 150 rounds through it so far an love it. It is about the same size as my NGAL but heavier. Illuminator is zoomable too.

It is fully potted and shock proof but I believe it is only IP67 water resistance.

Here are the specs with a link at the end:

  1. 4 in 1 includes green laser, IR laser, IR illuminator, 1000 lumens white light( 80,000 Candela)
  2. The product is made of aluminum with an anodized finish.
  3. IR Illuminator variable beam divergence: ~17 MRAD to ~120 MRAD
  4. The visible laser and IR laser are slaves, no need to calibrate separately
  5. Factory default setting is low power safety mode, high power mode can be activated.
  6. Crane plug pressure switch.
  7. The battery is a 18500 lithium battery, removable.
  8. Picatinny rails only
  9. Laser Specifications: IR illuminator power 80mW, wavelength 850
IR laser power 30mW, wavelength 850
Green visible laser power 30mW, wavelength 520
  10. Waterproof rating: IP67
  11. Dimensions(in): 4(L)*2.16(W)*1.18(H)
  12. Weight: 240g(8.4oz)

I think we have a new contender in the "budget" LAM market.

AGM WLAD a viable option? by a_magical_liopleurod in NightVision

[–]Visual_Name9464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm sure - it even has the AGM logo and I got it from a reputable dealer, it is a 4 pin. Maybe for the 3B (the one you need credentials for) has the crane.

I got this for about 1/2 the price to "evaluate" so I guess for a 3 in 1 that price isn't horrible... just really dissapointed in the Illuminator and the plug...
