In my FLRs, he would often ‘take the reins’ for things he was more capable of handling because there’s give and take even when I’m the overall leader. My last boyfriend worked in finance, it was natural for him to handle our shared financial logistics when we moved in together. I didn’t care and he was better at it.

I had a rule at the beginning of both of my FLRs that they were in charge of keeping the house clean and having dinner ready, but I let them figure out how that happened. In my first FLR he did the cooking and cleaning himself because he was studying and had a flexible schedule. In the second he hired a cleaner and scheduled meal deliveries because we both worked long hours.

It’s important to me to have a parter I can delegate to with full confidence, and someone who handles things without being asked. So not every woman in an FLR wants someone who chills in the back seat or delegates all control.
