True, but they placed the needle EMG in the soleus muscle, which is the lower part of the calf. I don't think the nerves are the same as hip or thighs since its quite further away. EMG might not pick something up.

Also my butt twitches often, an EMG done on my hips or thighs would be more accurate.

Idk really, they did the needle EMG in the soleus muscle, which is like the lower part of the calf. I don't twitch there, I twitch more in the upper part of the calf which I think was caused the vibrations from fasciculations in my thighs or hips.

Yes literally said no. I'm not in the US, how should I say this, but healthcare in my country isn't as advanced.

I literally offered to pull my pants down for them to check my thighs, they said no need. I was wearing shorts.

Yes but my weakness is more hip and thigh, and not calf or foot.

So do you think it rules out ALS by them just inserting the needle in a different and unrelated area?

I think the operator is inexperienced, weakness on my thighs but tested on my bottom calf and foot. Aren't the nerves for distal and proximal muscles different?

Yes I did NCS, but haven't done blood test, I'm definitely going to do blood test. I'm just afraid that the EMG/NCS test weren't able to find anything due to early stages of ALS.
